Knowing that lots of you take magnesium glycinate, have any of you taken it safely during pregnancy?
Slightly off topic as I’m enquiring for my daughter who does not have a thyroid problem but is in the first trimester of pregnancy and is only sleeping about three hours a night. I suggested magnesium glycinate but added that she would, of course, have to check that it was safe in pregnancy. And here is the problem, everyone is saying “check with your doctor or midwife “ neither of whom is available (GP never available and no midwife tilJanuary).
She was taking Pregnacare multivits (yes, I know) which has a little magnesium but not as much as in other supplements. When she finishes the pack she’ll just take folate and maybe vit D.
she’s desperate for sleep and can hardly do her job. Any suggestions?

Just from a logic point of view...
Keeping magnesium intake at a good level is beneficial for the health of everyone. It seems unlikely that it becomes dangerous just because someone is pregnant. And babies need magnesium too.
