Hi, I have just come off amitriptyline recently which I took for my fibro. I need something to help with the pain , insomnia and anxiety I struggle with. I have started on cbd oil from Holland & Barratt. The problem is I am on t3 only for my UAT. I currently dose this 3 times a day. I have only managed to find small bits of information re any possible interaction. I am only able to take the cbd oil in the evening to keep it away from my t3. Unfortunately this is not enough and I am at a loss as to how I can increase it .
I just wondered if any of you take the 2 together and do it more successfully than me.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry I don’t have an answer for you, I’m just hoping to bump your post up. I’m interested/curious about the answer.
What I do know is H&B products aren’t always the best quality (some are some aren’t) maybe CBD oils are not all equal? As hypothyroidism is common in the US and Cannabis is no longer illegal in some states, maybe our US members might know?
I do remember a podcast where someone took gummies with CBD but I don’t remember spacing from T3.
How do you take your CBD oil? Sublingually? If so, there's less problem.
The usual advice is to take CBD oil two hours away from thyroid hormone 'just in case'. But no-one really seems to know if there is any potential reaction between the two.
Well, that lessens the problem, then, doesn't it. Because it doesn't meet up with the hormone in the gastro-intestinal tract.
I took CBD for quite a while, but can't afford it at the moment. I found it did wonders for my nervous system, helped my ataxia. I do still give it to my dog, who has arthritis, and it calms him down wonderfully.
If you're interested, there are some articles on CBD oil on my profile:
Thank you I will have a read. I did get myself in a bit of a panic as I had put a lot of faith in the cbd helping and then the idea of not being able to use it upset the apple cart. To add to the mix I take a very low dose of fluoxetine and I have read that that can interact with cbd. I have learnt a lesson....read up about interactions before starting something new. I am currently doing a bit of a juggling act trying to space them all out.
I have Fibro so can certainly sympathise with you. I tried Amytriptyline for Fibro and migraine prevention and can attest its very sedating but I found the side effects unbearable. 5HTP is a natural serotonin booster, its often touted as effective for mild to moderate depression, pain relief and helping you sleep. I take it for sleep and it definitely helps.
I would definitely recommend looking at the quality of your CBD oil as I know some of Holland & Barrett’s don’t have a defined amount of CBD in them and the quality is lacking in others. Unfortunately, good quality ones are quite expensive but I’ve noticed a huge difference in terms of efficacy between cheaper and better quality oils.
I’ve linked my fave below. The quality vs cost is among the best I can find for a full spectrum, high concentrate oil (100mg CBD per 1ml of oil). It tastes pretty hempy so they’ve got a minty version if that’s an issue.
