Hello. My endocrinologist suggested to take 25mg of T3 together with 88mg of levothiroxine. I managed to take 18mg of T3 daily for 2 months even if i knew it was too much for me. I was feeling too hot i ,was sweating constantly and my husband told me i was getting aggressive since i started T3. The worst symptom was itching all over my body.I got my blood results. I am posting the results. When i saw my results i only took T3 twice a day around 12mg daily amount. The excessive sweat stopped,i am not itchy anymore and i feel great. But my doctor wants me to take 25mg per day. Why to suggest taking such a high dose if it makes me feel worse and my tsh is so low? I have also tested for vitamins,B12 , D and iron, ferritine and all of them are nearly optimal results.

I have another question. I take the second dose of T3 soon after lunch. Can i take it straight after food? I am not sure if i have to take it before or after food.

It would be madness to take more than you need, as you already know it will give you adverse symptoms and it would take your FT3level too high. Just take what is the right dose for you.

I always treat my T3 the same as Levo amd keep away from food but some people say it's not as fussy as Levo. You could experiment and see if it makes any difference.

Would just like to add that it doesn't matter if your TSH is low when you're taking T3. Because that's what T3 does. Sometimes even a small dose can suppress the TSH. And that happens because you don't need it any more. TSH is a pituitary hormone, secreted by the pituitary when it senses that there is not enough thyroid hormone in the blood to stimulate it to make more thyroid hormone. It also helps with conversion of T4 to T3. If you are taking T3 'ready-made' so to speak, you don't need the TSH for either of those functions, so the pituitary stops producing it. And, that's fine. :)

My consultant told me to take 50mcg levo and 20mcg lio. It made me worse. It is personal and trial and error what doses you need on combo.

My dose ended up 100mcg levo and 7.5lio . The doctors can't predict what you will need.

Many medics fail to understand that clinical evaluation is an important part of diagnosis and your symptoms should send a red flag to this one, highlighting that you are being overmedicated

We aim to take just enough hormone to relieve our symptoms not as much as we can tolerate ( there can be a difference)....and you were not tolerating 18mcg, far less 25mcg

If 12mcg makes you feel well, then 12mcg is what you need!!.

Don't be persuaded to take more than you know your can tolerate...you know your body better than anyone.

As the others have explained, once T3 is added both TSH and FT4 fall...that's how the body works.

I need high dose T3-only and my TSH and FT4 are on the floor and my FT3 is high....it's what my body needs. Numbers are only part of the issue.

I take my T3 in a single dose at bedtime , it keeps it away from food and drinks. It may or not be hugely important ( it's debateable!) but I play safe so I would suggest you takeT3 at least an hour away from food.

One dose of 25mcg of T3 is approx equal to 100 mcg of levo so your body might find you're taking a bit too much. It should be taken on an empty stomach with one glass of water and wait an hour before eating.

I take one daily dose of 20mcg of T3 and have no clinical symptoms and feel well,
