ok guys just received my results. Before testing I split dose my 10mcg T3 into two doses, 5mcg late morning with my T4 and 5mcg around 10hrs before I tested. T3 still showing very low as per usual. Very pleased a year later my antibodies are still low. Very surprised my VitD is showing so low because I did a spot test in June and it was much higher although I don't get that much sun. Can't provide last D results at moment as I can't access them due to the Lab changing things and now passworded which I never set so have put a call out to them to tell me again. Think I might recheck that again on another spot test before I start supplementing again.
I have to send my results over to my GP and then we are to have another consultation on what to do. She is fully aware that I converse with you guys and your great knowledge so I will be informing her of your recommendations to put some changes in place. I may also upping my HRT patch with a bit extra estrogen as the patch I have been on for a long time isn't giving me adequate levels from last blood test to help that much but I just bumbled on with the same dose as consulting with a meno specialist and trialing other stuff I gave up.
OK folks, what's my next move?

thanks for the reply. I can't really fit in 3 x 5mcg doses a day as I currently don't get up until around 1pm as I changed my sleeping pattern due to all the building noise next door. I usually set my alarm for around 10am, take my Levo and 10mcg and go back to sleep until lunchtime. Last week or so I have started to add an extra 5mcg which I usually take in the evening.
I know my T3 levels are always low but I am not sure whether T3 actually suits me to be honest. They say that it's more how you feel rather than figures. I wonder whether my Functional Nutritionist was right when she said the T3 might be fueling my anxiety as I read up on the site effects of it and I have so many symptoms, although several on the list are from anxiety.
I remember upping my dose of T3 around 2-3yrs ago and when tested it went over range and I never actually felt better or worse.
From this article I have MANY of the side effects symptoms and also MANY on the overdose list. I really don't know what to do anymore I really don't. I just want rid of this anxiety and it just won't go
SlowDragon I have been messing with my T3 ie. changing it to split doses but missing a couple of days and doses to see if it affected my anxiety levels and initially I noticed when I hadn't taken it my anxiety wasn't quite so bad but I think I have done more damage than good tbh as I may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
Reason I did that was because I remember, back in 2018 before I started it, my Endo said that introducing T3 would be a delicate process because of worsening my anxiety levels even more despite knowing that I didn't convert very well and my very high cortisol levels at that time, so he never put me on it. I think I only went on it on recommendations from users on this site when I sought help.
I have had a couple of stressful days especially with having to go to the dentist which I fear so I am feeling the aftermath of fatigue and more anxiety, mental confusion because of how much I worried about it.
I really don't know what to do. I just can't help thinking T3 doesn't suit me because of initially feeling slightly better when I missed the odd dose.
I really NEED SOME HELP AND GUIDANCE PLEASE, I am in a hell of a bad state at the moment, I am so frightened and want to jump off a bridge right now and be done with it
Your Ft3 is incredibly low. Personally I think you likely need more, not less
But if you can’t tolerate it …..ween off it
Down to 5mcg initially…..wait 3-4 weeks then once use to only 5mcg ….just stop T3
See GP, explain how desperate you feel
GP could prescribe propranolol……10mg 3 or 4 x per day
Yes it affects thyroid levels…. it slows uptake and conversion rate of Ft4 to Ft3……but it makes an inadequate dose levothyroxine/T3 go further
I was on propranolol 20 years ….amazing for completely stopping anxiety
For me the catalyst to eventually getting off propranolol and anxiety no Longer a problem….was absolutely strictly gluten free diet…but doesn’t work for everyone
Meanwhile Ask for referral to psychiatrist…..who can also prescribe T3
I am trying to wean off my propanolol as it doesn't help my anxiety ie. the mental symptoms. Only my Diazepam seems to help that. I am waiting on a consultation with my GP to look at increasing my T3 slightly to see if it makes any difference but I have missed a few doses here and there and anxiety today is so bad which makes me think I am in withdrawal. I don't really know whether it works for me or not tbh which is why I tried staying off it for a couple of days and noticed my anxiety was slightly less. So by missing those doses I am now paying for it.
i was assessed for therapy but refused last year despite being suicidal and admitting myself into hospital, was thinking private but not even sure they can help me.
If I try adding a bit more t3 and still don't feel the benefits then I don't see the need to take it, if it's not helping me. I have been completely gluten free for a few years now but has made no difference except for lowering my antibodies.
If it wasn't for the debilitating anxiety (which I have had on and off for most of my life) I could function. I just don't know the route cause of it
jusdt a single dose of 20mg . Had it before many years ago and just really helped some of the physical symptoms but NOT the mental ones. Sick of taking tablets, I rattle that much now.
