hello, I live in France and cannot get the kind of up to date help I need here, apart from a naturopath who advises on supplements. Apart from getting my nodules scanned and biopsied my GP is not interested.

I need to consult with someone remotely in English and do all the tests they need by post.

Last month I started getting a lot of quite debilitating adrenal fatigue symptoms, on top of what I thought were borderline hypothyroid symptoms. So basically am not really functioning very well until about 3pm, the morning is a write off.

I have two thyroid nodules [Tirads 4 and Tirads 3] had unsuccessful needle biopsy 3 years ago where he was not able to obtain cells, booking another shortly. Am not too concerned about the nodules because stats for thyroid cancer are very low. however the Tirads 4 has doubled in size over 4 years and the Tirads 3 has only just appeared. I have heard of people being prescribed levo to shrink their nodules but GP says 'that is not our policy'. I did start low dose HRT 3 years ago and am wondering if this might have anything to do with the nodules growing? I know alot of people have nodules and just ignore them and sometimes they diminish and go away and sometimes they don't.

My lab results are as follows:

Ferritine 65 ng/ml (5-204) B12 332 pg/ml [187-883] Vit D 25 ng/ml [30-60 ]

FT3 2.70 pg/ml [1.58-3.91] FT4 1.17 ng/dl [0.70 - 1.48] TSH 0.85 ui/ml [0.35-4.94]

Doc thinks they are OK although I think the FT3 is a bit low.

i've already started supplementing Vit D and topping up B12 and iron slightly. I was surprised about the Vit D since I've been outside much of the summer. Naturopath thinks there is a malabsorption problem since I have digestion issues and am gluten intolerant ever since a peritonitis operation10 yrs ago. She has given me lactobacillus reuteri to improve Vit D absorption.

I would just like to have all my eggs in one basket with one good functional doctor who I can communicate in English who is experienced in my issues. From my own research I was wondering if it might be a problem with the HPA axis, am trying to get a 24 hr saliva test sorted to work this out. very grateful for any help as I am just flailing around not getting very far atm. thanks

hi, sorry I can’t help with a recommendation and admins will ask these are given in direct messages to you rather than via the open forum. Thyroid UK have a downloadable list of GPS and Endos on the website thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp... if you email they’ll send you a pdf.

Have any of your blood tests included antibody testing? Your description ticks a lot of Hashimoto’s/Auto immune thyroid boxes and this can present as sub-clinical or ‘normal’ (normal range is nonsense, GPs should go on symptoms) on blood tests when antibodies aren’t tested.

Upping the vitamins will definitely help, takes time though. It’s common for us leaky gut folk to have low vitamin D. I’m very outdoorsy and mine was 47. 12 weeks on 4000iu and it’s up to 75. Feeling a lot better, more energy and fewer aches.

Good luck with your journey, let us know how your consultation goes. 🦋💚🦋
