forgot to mention I am on 75 per day and also take metformin for type 2 thanks

was test done early morning, ideally around 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Metaformin can lower TSH…so ignore TSH result

what vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Folate is deficient

Ft3 is below range

But Ft4 is over range

If you took test as advised this shows terrible conversion rate

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Suggest you ask for dose increase in levothyroxine as first step

75mcg and 100mcg alternate days

Perhaps try splitting the dose too

Taking half dose waking and half dose at bedtime

retest in 6-8 weeks

Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease

Are you on strictly gluten free or dairy free diet

thanks for your help, fasting blood test, no thyroxine for 24 hrs beforehand and test done at 9.30 in the morning and posted back same day from priority post box. Gluten free have been for several years. Have taken same make for several years allergic to Teva. Only vitamin I am taking is a vitamin d spray and a magnesium tablet about 3 times a week. Hope this helps. Any help would be much appreciated thanks so far for your help, very kind of you as usual, you are such a fountain of knowledge even though you are not medically trained. Thanks

as you’re already on gluten free diet and gluten….conversion is often poor

Going to need addition of T3 prescribed alongside (probably slightly reduced dose) levothyroxine

getting folate levels improved while waiting

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid)

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

Difference between folate and folic acid

chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid.

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement

your ferritin is high - what were your CRP, TPO and Tg levels. As SlowDragon says your FT3 and folate are too low.

I just wondered if your CRP was high which can be a sign of infection and can lead to elevated ferritin. They’re not too high but the lower the better. Your ante bodies are negative so I don’t think they’re causing inflammation. Not much help am I 😀
