I have been feeling unwell since starting a new batch of my NDT (ERFA). I have been taking ERFA from the same pharmacy in Richmond, Surrey, for years, but since starting this batch, I have gotten quite unwell. I started having joint pain and now I feel terrible. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Am I under or over medicated - difficult to know. Shakes, dizziness, headaches, swollen neck around thyroid. Yesterday I spent the whole day in bed!
Has anyone else had any issues with recent batches of ERFA?

It’s caused me an absolute nightmare of symptoms and have no idea what to do now as most it the NDT brands are not great now. How are you feeling on this batch? I have also tried another batch from snatcher pharmacy and it’s just as bad for me..
Hi HashiFedUp . Can you list the side effects for you of taking too much and too little NDT. I advocate people on NDT need to tune their dosage. So maybe you have a new batch and it's fresher and stronger than the last ? Maybe you need to drop 60mg for a day or two and see if you feel better.
Thanks guys. I’m biting my erfa in half and taking it along with my normal 50 of levothyroxine, (ie instead of a whole erfa) to see if it makes me feel better - and i’ve booked to have a blood test in the next week or so.
This disease is soo frustrating- just when you have stability and start planning things, whoosh, you’re off your feet again ! 😆
Yes I’m exactly the same I have been experiencing lump pressure feeling in my throat, aching wrists arms and heavy legs chronic exhaustion headache constant nausea since new batch which started a few months ago. I have tried various pharmacies including the one in Richmond, this is 100% change in new batch formulation. I have no where else to go with NDT as Armour having problems as well.
This is disappointing news for you, but also as I am thinking of starting ERFA myself. I am having exactly the same symptoms as you since starting a new batch of Thyroid S. I have felt very unwell for over a month and a half and thought at the worst point I was having a stroke or haemorrhage. I came off it completely and the symptoms subsided, so I tried Levo/T3, symptoms came back, tried T3 only, symptoms came back. Getting desperate to find something that works. I feel better on nothing but after a few days I become more fatigued so I can't give Thyroid meds up all together. I can't afford Armour so Thyroid treatment options are quickly running out for me. Have you tried ditching the Levo all together and just take the ERFA? Levo doesn't work for me and many others.
