My recent Blood test showed my TSH at 5.5 so Doctor increased my 100mcgs of Levothyroxine to 125mcgs a day. Also using 12.5 T3 every 3rd Day.
Now 6 weeks later I have had these bloods rechecked and the results are
TSH 0.03 L ( 0.27-4.20 ) mU/L
Free T4 27.9 H ( 12.0-22.0 ) pmol/L
Free T3 9.8 H ( 3.1- 6.8 ) pmol/L
Can anyone give advice....? My GP is not available for 3 weeks until I return to Hong Kong and obviously I can see these results are too high. I feel absolutely fine and no side effects. I certainly feel alot better than I did - but realise these results are out of range. Thanks all...

Do you have Hashi's? Those results rather look like you do, because the results are rather high for the dose you're on.
Also, how long were the gaps between your last dose of levo and your last dose of T3 and the blood draw? What time of day was the blood draw?
I'm afraid the way you're dosing your T3 is not a good idea. With T3 you need to take the same dose every single day for it to do what it's supposed to do. Your body must be very confused at just having T3 every third day, and not every day.
Luley you shouldn't take a dose of t3 every third day . The way the body works it needs a stable same dose of t3 every day at around the same times. If you are dosing t3 this way it is likely to be part of the problem.
When did you take your last doses of levo and t3 prior to those tests?
Did you leave the same gap between doses and blood test for your previous results?
Hi, thanks. I unfortunately took my levo and T3 on the morning of the test, and wasnt told not to. So perhaps this is not a true result. Previously I had a test and the results were
TSH 5.50 ( 0.27-4.20 ) mU/L
Free T3 2.50 ( 3.1- 6.8 ) pmol/L
Free T4 3.17 (12.0-22.0 ) pmol/L
So, I dont know why my Hong Kong Doctor told me to use T3 Tiromel.
I do feel well, and in the past my TSH has been as high as 75.6 - so I am just very reactive
Should I be using the T3??
Should I reduce the Levothyroxine back to 100mcgs?
luley the recommendation on here is usually stick with levo only until TSH is around 1 or lower or ft4 is at the top of the range or higher. Only then do you start to compare ft4 and ft3 to see if you are a poor convertor. When you do blood tests it is best to use the same protocol for each test so you can compare like for like. When we take our doses of hormones th levels in the blood spike 2 to 4 hours after ingestion. This peak is not representative of our usual blood levels so we are best to avoid taking bloods around the peak. It is perhaps preferable to take bloods when levels will be around their lowest so just before medication is due.

Hi, no the last test in HK was done late in the afternoon, so approx 8 hours after the morning dose; No one told me to not take the test, after taking the day dose, so I did. I appear to have got it wrong...i suppose I should do another test after a day of not using either Levo or T3
