Do you guys think im under medicated? I just been reading others results and i am a bit confused 🤷🏻♀️
Are you sure your FT4 is 4.4?
How do you feel?
TSH is too high for a treated hypo patient, generally we feel best around 1 or below with free Ts in the upper part of their respective reference ranges.
When pregnant I believe the TSH should be less than 2.5 I will tag Clutter as she has links and information about this.
Gosh so sorry! Im also dyslexic and numbers symbols get mixed up in my head etc!!!
T4 is 12.2
Well spotted!!😘
Well, you are definitely undermedicated to have a TSH of 3.3 and your FT4 is rather low in range. As I said, I believe TSH needs to be below 2.5 in pregnancy.
I've found this for now btf-thyroid.org/projects/pr... hopefully Clutter can give you more information.
KatVonB,
You are undermedicated. TSH >3 increases the risk of miscarriage so I would increase dose by 50mcg to 125mcg now and make an appointment to see your GP for an increased prescription.
The TSH during the first should be in the low-normal range 0.4 - 2.5. When pregnancy is confirmed dose is usually increased by 25-50mcg to ensure good foetal development until the foetus develops its own thyroid gland between 12-14 weeks. NICE also recommends that hypothyroid women planning pregnancy should be referred to endocrinology. cks.nice.org.uk/hypothyroid...
Management of primary hypothyroidism: statement by the British Thyroid Association Executive Committee
13. The serum TSH reference range in pregnancy is 0·4–2·5 mU/l in the first trimester and 0·4–3·0 mU/l in the second and third trimesters or should be based on the trimester-specific reference range for the population if available. These reference ranges should be achieved where possible with appropriate doses of L-T4 preconception and most importantly in the first trimester (1/++0). L-T4/L-T3 combination therapy is not recommended in pregnancy (1/+00).

According the ATA First Trimester TSH levels between 2.5 and 5.0 are associated with increased pregnancy loss
Hiya
My dose was increased from 50mcg to 75mcg
Im in second trimester soon going in to third
I was under a very good range in first two trimesters really with a range of 1.3 TSH
It went to 2.6 so he upped it to 75mcg two weeks ago and my results from the blood test are from 2 weeks ago (so just before i took the 75mcg dose)
I have an up coming blood test in 3 weeks and he is going to monitor me then too and tell me if I need an increase
He’s an endo so when i told my locum GP this and the midwife they said he is the expert in this so he knows what he is saying ☹️ i am still confused. So far all other tests on baby have been fine and she is progressing well ☺️☺️ thank God!
Just got 3 weeks to wait and see, i suppose, what they say for results.
