Hi , been a delay in picking these up as have been away .
TSH LEVEL 2.4 0.35-5.50
T4 LEVEL 12.7 7.86-14.41
B12 LEVEL 305 150-750
VIT D LEVEL 45.3 50-150
Been told vit d is marginally low and to get otc supplements
Reason for blood test was because hot flushes and sweating
Currently taking 75mcg of eltroxin and was taking wellman multi vit ( stopped taking a week before test)
Anyone have any thoughts on results.

Has the FT3 been tested at all?
Also how do you feel on the current dose?
The vitamin D is NOT "marginally low" it is EXTREMELY low.
Most people benefit from the value being around 100-125.
You can also have a look at calculators telling you about a loading and maintenance dose to ideally achieve those levels.

You can then ask GP to retest or test using Monitor My Health NHS service which is about £29.

Thanks for replying, yo my knowledge ft3 has never been tested. Also I have never truly felt comfortable on levothyroxine

Normally a thyroid panel includes TSH, FT3 and FT4 as a minimum.
You do need to know what the FT3 is doing as it's the hormone "responsible" for the majority of our symptoms. Unfortunately, very rarely do the labs test for it even when a GP makes the request, which is a shame. Many of us have to test privately, the cheapest available is via Monitor Myhealth linked above, for £26.10 as you can use code: "THYROIDUK10" for 10% off.

Try to do the blood draw between 8am and 8.30 am as TSH drops significantly after that time.
When doing the blood tests afterwards, keep it consistent.

B12 is also too low
No folate or ferritin results?
Multivitamins are never recommended on here. Most contain iodine not recommended for anyone on levothyroxine. Cheap poorly absorbed ingredients.
Low B12
supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid) may be beneficial.
This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too
Difference between folate and folic acid
chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...
B vitamins best taken after breakfast
Thorne Basic B or Jarrow B Right are recommended options that contains folate, but both are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement and separate B12
Low B12 symptoms
b12deficiency.info/signs-an...
With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a B12 supplement as well as a B Complex ( to balance all the B vitamins) initially for first 2-4 months.
once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.

What sort of range should my b12 be ?
Reply (0)Report
B12 At least over 500
Folate and ferritin at least half way through range and vitamin D at least around 80nmol
Reply (1)Report
Is there a calculator out there for how much b12 to take or is it just a generic dose
Reply (0)Report
Start with vitamin B complex - either Thorne Basic B or Jarrow B right
Only add one supplement at a time, then wait at least 10-14 days to assess before adding another
After two weeks add in B12 sublingual supplement
Retest in 2-4 months
Once Serum B12 is over 500, or Active B12 is over 70…..stop separate B12 and just continue with daily vitamin B complex
How much vitamin D are you currently taking
Likely to need at least 3000iu - 4000iu daily
Retest after 2-3 months
Once vitamin D reaches 100-125nmol…..reduce vitamin D dose to maintenance level. Trial and error what dose that is
For some it might be 2000iu daily all year
Others might need 2000iu in summer and 3000iu in winter
Or if gluten intolerant/dairy intolerant, likely to need higher dose….4000iu or more just as maintenance dose and higher to increase vitamin D levels
Test twice yearly via NHS private testing service when supplementing

TSH LEVEL 2.4 0.35-5.50
T4 LEVEL 12.7 7.86-14.41
TSH is too high
Was test done early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Request increase in levothyroxine to 75mcg and 100mcg alternate days and retest in 2-3 months
Approx how much do you weigh in kilo
Guidelines on dose levothyroxine by weight can help get dose increase in levothyroxine
TSH should be under 2 as an absolute maximum when on levothyroxine
gponline.com/endocrinology-...
Replacement therapy with levothyroxine should be initiated in all patients to achieve a TSH level of 0.5-2.0pmol/L.
NHS England Liothyronine guidelines July 2019 clearly state on page 13 that TSH should be between 0.4-1.5 when OPTIMALLY treated with just Levothyroxine
Note that it says test should be in morning BEFORE taking levothyroxine
Also to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

Graph showing median TSH in healthy population is 1-1.5

Aim is to bring a TSH under 2.5
UK guidance suggests aiming for a TSH of 0.5–2.5

That's the problem with going through the doctors, they just see it's fine and leave you be ..... my next endo appointment isn't till November too..

Suggest you improve B12, folate and vitamin D and get TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested by Monitor My Health in 6-8 weeks time
Essential to test TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 together
Looking for Ft3 at least 50-60% through range
For good conversion of Ft4 to Ft3 we need OPTIMAL vitamin levels
Always test thyroid levels early Monday or Tuesday morning, before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking
Do you always get same brand at each prescription
Come back with new post once you get full thyroid results
How much do you weigh in kilo
You have to be assertive.
Print out guidelines that help argue for dose increase and put forward your case

No , been tested once a few years ago .... can't remember the result but was told it was in range

So request new testosterone test in November
Always get actual results and ranges on all tests
Keep good records of all your results
The only person who can manage this disease is you
Keeping all four vitamins optimal essential
Test folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually
Test vitamin D twice year

Are you already on gluten free or dairy free diet?
If not already gluten free get coeliac blood test done BEFORE considering trial on gluten free diet
Reply (0)Report
Been tested for coeliac and was fine
Reply (0)Report
Only 5% of Hashimoto’s patients test positive for coeliac
But further 80% of Hashimoto’s patients find strictly gluten free diet helps, often significantly, or is absolutely essential
It’s ALWAYS worth trying gluten free for minimum 3-6 months

Retest full thyroid and vitamin levels after 8-10 weeks
B12 range in U.K. is too wide
Interesting that in this research B12 below 400 is considered inadequate
