Blood Test Preparation

Finally, I managed to get another blood test appointment after the lab didn’t test my T3. I’d like to ensure I prepare properly.

My appointment is at 8.30am on Wednesday 8th June.

I take 75 mcg Eltroxin and 25 mcg liothyronine. I usually take the whole dose at 7 am.

I also take vitamin D, B12 and B complex. I stopped the B complex on 31 May in prep.

Thank you very much.

Take your last dose of Levo 24 hours before your test.

With your liothyronine split this into 2 or 3 doses the day before the test and take the last part of the dose 8-12 hours before the test.

You can continue to take your Vit D and B12 up to and including the day before the test and take after the test on the day.

Thank you very much - that’s really helpful. I’ll do it right this time and hope the lab does what’s needed. Thank you again!

I was thinking of splitting my T3 (25mcg) into three - first dose (half) at 7 am, second dose (quarter) at 2 pm and third dose (quarter) at 10.30 pm. Would that be right?

Thank you!
