NDT prescription

I’ve found a private thyroid doctor but they charge £30 just for a prescription for NDT that doesn’t include the medication. Is that normal/expensive?

Years ago I was charged £20 for a prescription of ndt (I only got it twice) from a functional medicine doctor

I think it's the norm when going private. It's the thing I don't like about private care, but if you buy it elsewhere you still have shipping costs which I found ended up making it not much cheaper.

Mine charges 100 for a phone consultation which is essentially "happy on this dose ? " OK I'll mail you a new prescription. Be aware that the medication is likely to be £300 on top.

Yes I pay 30 per script. That's twice a year.

Then there's the annual meet with the cwac £-150-200 depending on how long they talk at me. That's for their box ticking compliance requirements,

Meds are 180x4 pa.

Then blood test)s) on top.

So about a grand a year to try to stay well.
