Prescription of NDT
Loutraki, I'll be interested to read the responses to this thread. Are you having issues in your area?
Loutraki - You could always look up various CCG's policies. This is mine:
Further info - It is not really necessary to look up each individual CCG to establish whether they can prescribe it. Each County seems to have a single organisation for all the CCG's in that County. Every CCG in each County seems to follow the advice of that organisation regarding NDT.
In Merseyside that organisation is the Panmersey Area Prescribing Committee. BLACKLIST.
In Lancashire it is the Lancashire Medicines Management Group. BLACKLIST.
Don't know the names of any others.
Alternatively some CCG's may follow the Endocrinology Society, the BTA or SPS. It's a bit like the Woolworths pick 'n' mix stall where the CCG can seemingly choose whichever reasons it fancies from whichever organisation is flavour of the day to justify its decision.
Panmersey actually deleted several pieces of evidence from their 2017 recommendation when I asked them to justify their reasons for the blacklisting. The document is being updated in June 2019 and I have once again queried the remaining reasons for their continued blacklisting, providing them with my reasons as to why I believe what they are now saying is a load of UTTER B*%%*!^S
Thanks for the information!
