Just wondering lovely people, if you can advise, I have been taking Thorne basic b complex 1 per day, just wondering if I can take 2 per day at the same time, as trying to improve b12 and folate?

Also due to take another blood test this month, as have now been on ferrous sulfate 210mg x 3 per day, and have also been taking my basic b, better you vit d3 vit k2 mk7 x 4 sprays and magnesium malate - I’ve read on here that I should stop iron & b complex supplements about a week before next blood test but do I need to stop any of the others?

GP has only done my next blood form for the following tests - should I ask him to add more tests to this?

FBC - FOL. - LFT - TFT1 - FERRITIN - HBA1C REQUESTING PURPOSE DIAGNOSTIC - NON FASTING LIPIDS - U&E

Thanking you all for any advice.

In the week before testing, while you stop vitamin B complex, you can instead take a separate daily folate and separate daily B12

Always test thyroid levels as early as possible in morning and if testing iron and ferritin it should be a fasting test so test before eating or drinking anything other than water

Thanks for advice and that’s a very good idea to take them separately I will do this.

Yes, it's fine to take 2 x Thorne Basic B if you need to, the bottle does say "Take 1 capsule 1-3 times a day".

It will, of course, work out more expensive and it's already an expensive supplement. It might be worth considering a different brand.

I have used Thorne Basic B for a long time and always been happy. However, as it's quite expensive so I have bought some of this one to try when I've finished the last of my Thorne. The amounts of the vitamins are very similar, it's liposomal which is said to absorb better, there are no unnecessary added ingredients and better priced:

amazon.co.uk/Liposomal-Vita...

If you look at different brands then look for the words "bioavailable" or "bioactive" and ensure they contain methylcobalamin (not cyanocobalamin) and methylfolate (not folic acid). Avoid any that contain Vit C as this stops the body from using the B12. Vit C and B12 need to be taken 2 hours apart.

Just a thought 😊
