I tried to raise my levo from 50 mcg to 75mcg, it took just three days and I felt overmedicated and so difficult to relax. It’s almost like there is a limit that I can handle when it comes to synthetic T4. I had the same reaction when I was combining 45mg Armour with 50mcg synthetic T4. I felt overmedicated with racing mind, trouble sleeping and concentrating and sweating a lot even though my blood results looked good.I dropped Levo to 65mcg now to see if it helps. I wonder if it’s better for me to stick to 50mcg Levo and try to raise my synthetic T3 from 10mcg to 15mcg instead.
What do you guys think?
My blood results:
Armour 90mg (1.5grain) that I used before switching to synthetic because of price and shortage of NDT where I live:
TSH 0.09 ( 0.5-4.6)
Ft3 5 (3.5-6.5)
Ft4 12 (11-23)
Armour 45+ 45 Euthyrox used for 2 months, felt overmedicated as hell.
TSH 0.03( 0.5-4.6)
Ft3 5.5 (3.5-6.5)
Ft4 16 (11-23)
What I’m using now (until last Sunday) is 10mg T3 (Thybon) and 50mg liquid T4 , feel slightly undermedicated but not very bad really. My results on synthetic:
TSH 0.88 ( 0.5-4.6)
Ft3 4.9 (3.5-6.5)
Ft4 12.5 (11-23)
Thanks a lot!

Was this test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Last 1/2 or 1/3rd daily dose T3 approx 8-12 hours before test
Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested
Please add most recent vitamin results
Many people on liquid levothyroxine find it best to split the dose…half in morning and half at bedtime
HiYes , tests always at 7:30 am fasting , no levo last 24h. Last T3 taken 16h before test (I now know it should be 8-12h). No autoimmune. I take iron with folate ,B complex, D3 and magnesium. I take iodine but only 300mcg.
B12 500 (170-650)
D3 90 (50-150)
Folate 29 (>5.7nmol/L)
Ferritin 57 (15-200)
I’ve always struggled to keep my ferritin over 50. Without iron pills it’s around 35.
I didn’t know liquid works better split. When I take 75mcg in the morning I feel very hyper approximately 2 hours later. Warm and full of unpleasant energy. I can’t concentrate.
I take my T3 twice a day. 7 am and 3pm. Any later and I have trouble sleeping.
I split my dose as I find taking it all at once doesn't work for me. I'm on 125mcg and take 75mcg at night and 50mcg in the afternoon. Its better for me this way. You could try a 25mcg/50mcg split or try halving your dose so 38mcg each time.
Thank you I will try that for sure. It’s just so strange as levo is not supposed to be fast acting but for me it feels like that My GP leaves dosing to me as long as free T3 and free T4 are in range so I will just have to try different approaches So happy there are great sites like this where one can ask for advice
