I have posted on here before but as usual this has just dragged on with the 'professionals'. Even though I have taken the Thyroxine I still do not feel well, in fact my weight is even harder to control and I am still having much the same symptoms as before.
I see the Endo. next week but would appreciate any views on my results before then.
Many thanks - this site is invaluable.

Hello again SlowDragon ! Many thanks for your reply. No I have not had Vitamin D etc. tested since the start of Levothyroxine - I am hoping these will be done when I see the Endo. next week. It always takes so long for his appointments to come through. The trial of Levothyroxine was supposed to be for 3 months but no appointments available. One of the endo's specialties is supposed to be in the pituitary, he is pertained to be a National expert.
Prolactin was 278 mlU/L range 0 - 450
Antibodies 9 kunits/L range 0 - 34
I was surprised in the results of the test last week. My GP said the results he took in January were what he expected.
I will request Folate etc. tests to be done when I see the endo. next week. He declines to do the tests beforehand so the results can be discussed.
I do appreciate your answers - it is such a quagmire knowing what to press for in the appointments without your help so once again, thank you.
NHS refuses to test TG antibodies if TPO are negative
Endocrinologists rarely interested in vitamins
Hence so many forced to test privately
See what happens at consultation.
Test privately any ones not done
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw). This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
