On Wednesday I had a GP booked appointment at my surgery cancelled by them due to illness. I tried to book on an emergency basis but was told the GP had marked my blood test on 15/11 as no action and routine only . I went in to re-book and was told they have no bookable appointments and to call after Christmas when more would be available. I will run out before then.
I was started on 50 mcg of levo after coming off NDT. Severe symptoms returned of the usual and I get severe ataxia if under medicated. Previously I was feeling well on 1grain NDT and TSH was hovering under 1. Blood test after 6 weeks on levo says TSH is 2,99. All vitamins tested were good except vitamin D was over range. I had no choice and increased my levo myself while waiting the appointment on Wednesday and will now run out. I feel much better on 100 having tried 75 for 3 weeks.
I was promised a callback by two receptionists when they said they will speak to a GP. Neither of them phoned me back.
What do I do? I have emailed a complaint but last time I did this they took 6 months to reply. Rather desperately asking for your advice.

I totally agree. Ring and speak to the practice manager. Don't email. Don't accept excuses. If that doesn't get you anywhere, maybe you could go to the surgery and stay until you speak to the practice manager or at the very least get a prescription.
40 plus years ago I had a frozen shoulder and a 1 year old. Went to the surgery, receptionist refused to let me see a doctor. I went out to a phone box and rang my father (retired GP) who told me to go back in and wait. I did. Crying baby and all. Eventually I did see the doctor who was most apologetic and sent me to the local cottage hospital to treat it.
Receptionist obviously trying to 'protect' the doctor.
I rang again to be inquisitioned by a receptionist and had to wait a long time while the receptionist spoke to the head GP at the practise and I now have a booked appointment on Tuesday. Thank you for your encouragement. My meds will last until then.
I am glad you managed to get an appointment. Just in case this happens again, your Chemist can give emergency prescriptions for vital drugs, especially if you use the same Chemist regularly as they will have you "on their books" as it were.
Thanks, I was not aware of this. Not sure though how I would get this from boots.com where I get deliveries since COVID but hope all will be fine with a delivery over Christmas. So nerve racking and stressful. I think every one of us could do without these practical difficulties in our treatment
