I’m currently taking 100mcg Levo with 20mcg T3 and still feeling absolutely dreadful. I decided to take the advanced thyroid panel with Medichecks, and here are the results by (image attached above).

Based on my limited knowledge, my ferritin and folate etc could be higher, but it doesn’t seem alarmingly low either. Likewise vitamin D.

Oddly, since increasing both levo and T3 my T4 has gone up noticeably while my T3 has dropped from a peak of 5.95. Would that be potentially indicative of an rT3 issue, or is that a bit of a red herring?

I’m currently awaiting the results of a leptin test as I’m continuing to struggle with an inability to drop weight. Just trying to rule things out if nothing else as I continue to feel absolutely horrendous.

Thanks!

Looking at previous posts, you have increased dose levothyroxine up from 37.5mcg 3 months ago to 100mcg now

And added 20mcg over last 2 months

That’s a high dose change to get use to

The rest of your endocrine system is probably trying to catch up

Nothing in world of hormones happens quickly

Suggest you retest again in another 6-8 weeks

Always test as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Day before test split T3 into 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, taking last 1/2 or 1/3rd of daily dose approx 8-12 hours before test

Is this how you did your test

How are you NORMALLY taking your T3 …..split as 2 or 3 smaller doses?

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Did you leave the recommended time lag of medication ingestion prior to your blood test. If so, I’d suggest you are slightly over medicated. If you did leave the time lag of at least 8hrs since your last T3 and 24hrs since last Levothyroxine doses, as soon as you take your medications your levels will rise significantly. Your TSH is on the cusp of being suppressed. This would indicate your levels are very high. Being over medicated can give you very similar symptoms to being under medicated. This is how I feel myself. I’m on T3 plus Levothyroxine and have Hashimotos and DIO2 gene positive. I’m a poor converter. If my levels get too high or my TSH goes even slightly suppressed I feel awful but as soon as they’re all back in range I feel marvellous. Maybe a slight reduction in Levothyroxine or T3 might help you. Do you split your T3 throughout the day leaving each dose 8hrs apart? This is important as T3 only lasts about 8hrs or so but does have a half life too of about 1/2 days. I was advised this method of dosing by my private Endocrinologist and it works really well for myself. This is especially important if you are a poor converter.
