Hi all, I've just had the doc text me my results from a blood test taken yesterday.

I am under an endocrinologist who advised me to reduce my previous dose by 25mcg Levo and add in T3 (Thybon Henning) at 5 x 3 per day. I lowered Levo by 25mcg and after 10 days, introduced T3, at 2.5mcg in the morning, 2 weeks later added 2.5mcg 8 hours later. My regimen is 100/100/75/75/100/75/75,I take 2.5mcg of T3 alongside the Levo, then add 2.5mcg at 2pm.

I felt a week ago that the day I dose with 100mcg Levo, it feels too much! Should I drop the Levo down to 75 per day and keep T3 as is for 10 days, trying to add in an extra 1.25 in the morning?

I have very dry skin, terrible sleep at night, constipation and fatigue still.

My results from docs (basic thyroid panel):

T4 65.6 range 12 - 22

TSH 3.3 range 0.27 - 4.2

T3 4.0 range 0.27 - 4.2

I started this dosing regime on 31st October previously on Levo only for 10 months.

Thank you if anyone can help.

X

T4 65.6 range 12 - 22

Is that correct? It doesn't correspond to either your FT3 or TSH.

Do you take any biotin? Either by itself of in a B complex?

Yes, B complex and iron tablets... Have to say I didn't stop these a week before the test.

Then I think that FT4 -is it FT? - has to be wrong. It's just not possible to have it that high with a low FT3 and lowish TSH.

So your levo dose is actually 85.7mcg /day. (600mcg per week divided by 7)I prefer to take the same Levo dose each say rather than alternate doing . (or as close as i can get to same each day)

If you have 25mcg tablets you could take 75 + half a 25mcg each day , which gives 87.5mcg which is probably an insignificant difference to your current 85.7mcg dose.

That way you rule out any possibility of higher Levo dose on some days making you feel different .

Thanks for that tip, I did feel worse on the higher dose days. I wanted to lower the T4 to 75 per day, but as this is my follow up with the endo, thought I would leave until I got this result.

Can you please check the results and ranges you have put.

T4 65.6 range 12 - 22

TSH 3.3 range 0.27 - 4.2

T3 4.0 range 0.27 - 4.2

It looks as though you could have put a Total T4 result with Free T4 range, or maybe the 65.6 is a typo, and you have put the TSH range with T3 result.

That's what the test results on screen gave, doc also sent a text message... I think I may need to phone the surgery tomorrow, I've never had a result like that for T4!

OK, maybe ask for a print out of the results, just in case someone made a mistake. Let us know :)
