Some help with conversion percentages etc.

Had half my thyroid removed 3 & half weeks ago. Diagnosis was "follicular adenoma and background chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis ". It was not cancer, so super news.

Bloods have come back and are.

Serum T3 1.2nmol/L (was 1.3 in July) normal range 0.9 - 2.5nmol/L

Free T4 14.4pmol/L (was 16.2 in July) normal range 10.0 -20.0pmol/L

serum TSH 6.4miu/L (was 0.16 in July) normal range 0.2-4.0miu/L

As a result, my Levothyroxine has been increased from 75 to 100 per day. Have an appointment with Endo soon, but would like to go in armed with information. Prior to surgery I was extremely fatigued and cold. Someone said on here that my results in July showed I wasn't converting T4 to T3 and gave me the percentage of where they were within the ranges. Wondered if anyone could do this for my latest results and offer any suggestions as to what I can discuss with my endo... especially regarding NDT or T3.

I'm currently sleeping 14 to 18 hours a day and constantly cold, also getting heart palpitations.

TIA

Serum TSH 6.4miu/L (was 0.16 in July) normal range 0.2-4.0miu/L

much too high now - you want this less than 2 and probably less than 1

Free T4 14.4pmol/L (was 16.2 in July) normal range 10.0 -20.0pmol/L

too low - was 62% through range, now 44% - you will likely feel better when it's at least 75% through range - ie 17.5 on this range

Serum T3 1.2nmol/L (was 1.3 in July) normal range 0.9 - 0.25nmol/L - edited 2.5

SO this was 25% through range - which isn't great - and is now 18.75% - which is even worse. You def need that dose increase. Have you tested key nutrients - ferritin, folate, vit D and B12? You need these to be good too to feel properly well x

Reply edited as promised - but agree with SeasideSusie - you need to be on enough levo to get TSH down and free T4 nice and high (and nutrients good) before thinking about adding T3 meds as you really need to see what free T3 is doing when the other things are right x

Calculator here: chorobytarczycy.eu/kalkulator

No point in considering T3 until TSH is below 1 and all key nutrients are at optimal levels.

Thank you Seaside Suzie, TSH was 0.16 back in July. I've been supplementing folate B12 and vit D since then, but new tests for key nutrients are something I can raise with the Endo when I see him.
