I have found one doctor in my area who prescribes Armour but the price is absolutely ridiculous. Even if Thyroid-S is more expensive than it used to be, it´s still a more cost-effective option and now available again. So I am interested to know if anyone here has taken both brands and can compare them? Would you say that Thyroid-S works equally well as Armour?
Has anyone taken both Armour and Thyroid-S and ... - Thyroid UK
Has anyone taken both Armour and Thyroid-S and is able to compare the two?
I have taken both. Armour for 7 years until it altered in about 2009, then ERFA for a few years, now Thyroid-S. I've found it works as well as both the other two and I take the same dose (3 grains). The ones I didn't get on with were Nature-Throid and Thiroyd (no longer in production). Occasionally a batch of Thyroid-S can be slightly more potent than the last, but so was Armour sometimes. I have found it to be more consistent than Nature-Throid.
OK, thanks a lot! I have not found any bad reviews on Thyroid-S so it seems very potent and stable indeed. It´s a shame Armour was reformualted (it seemed to work really well before that). SInce it´s very expensive, I think I can safely give Thyroid-S a try.
I am nervous each time I start a new batch of Thyroid-S, just in case it's changed at all, but even now, since Sriprasit altered their source of the raw ingredient, it's been fine. You should be ok with it!
Thanks again, very reassuring to know! There don´t seem to be many good brands of NDT left...
