Tiromel - Thyro3? ingredients

Hi - I have been on T3 from Uni-Pharma which I managed to obtain in Greece for around 2 euros a pack but have nearly run dry. It seems I can get the same packet online for £11 but see that Tiromel is the same price for 100 tablets and would have like to try that - HOWEVER... -I don't know about all of you but I keep my supplements as clean as I can as well as eat organic, no sugar, gluten, dairy etc and there is PVP in this product... Polyvinylpyrrolidone, also known as povidone or PVP, is used in the pharmaceutical industry as a synthetic polymer vehicle for dispersing and suspending drugs. Povidone formulations are widely used in the pharmaceutical industry due to their ability to dissolve in both water and oil solvents. It is a derivative of petroleum! - I can't think that this will be good for my body which is stressed enough with Lyme and now thyroid issues. Am I missing something? Do I need to be worried? What are my alternatives?

I have found Thyro3 tablets - are they the same T3 as the others tablets mentioned? Does anyone use them? The ingredients are better than the other two, although I am still unhappy about the talc in them!

Please let me know your thoughts

Thank you - Nicola

When thyro3 gets mentioned, I always suspect the product being offered. Most possible sources are very questionable. I doubt I would buy it from an internet source.

I have never found a list of excipients available.

would you buy Tiromel over the internet or the uni pharm one?

Possibly but only with recommendations and great care.

So how do I get recommendations and is this product different from Tiromel and Uni-Pharm? or do I have to be careful with all of them?!

On the basis that Tiromel is made in Turkey and Uni-Pharma in Greece but thyro3 in Mumbai, I think we can assume it is different. But without further information it isn't even possible to guess whether it is very different or only a little.

Hopefully someone who knows sees your post and responds.

Hmm - thanks - will have to think about that one. But if anyone has tried Thyro3 then please let me know and where you got it from if it worked! Thanks

Do you mean the ingredients of Tiromel? I have found one place that says... Tiromel tablets 25mcg contain the active ingredient liothyronine (L-triiodothyronine or LT3), a synthetic form of a natural thyroid hormone as the sodium salt, used to treat thyroid deficiency or hypothyroidism. Tiromel also contains Lactose, Polyvinylpyrrolidone, Starch and Magnesium stearate

No - I meant thyro3.

I am aware of the excipients of Uni-Pharma and Tiromel.

Well a post on here says... The inactive ingredients present in Thyro3 pills are calcium sulfate, gelatin, starch, stearic acid, sucrose and talc

The picture I found of Thyro3 shows dark red tablets. That alone would put me off. In the UK, no thyroid meds have dyes in them.

I found a picture that shows them looking light pink. Think they are just packaged in dark packaging - but still the pink means a dye but then the Uni-Pharma one uses a couple of dyes in their tablets also! Does no-one on here take them then?

The list of excipients doesn't include an obviously coloured substance. Which makes it difficult to marry up what is in the photo with the excipients.

Haven't seen anyone here say they are on this brand. I've only seen Uni-Pharma, Tiromel and Mexican Cynomel.

I took Thyro3 a few years ago and found them fine, only stopped taking them because I started taking NDT.
