Perrigo Liothyronine Sodium.

Hello

Has anyone been able to get hold of these tablets since they were taken over by Mayne last year please and, if so, do they seem to be the same? If so, how did you manage to get hold of them (ie who did you contact etc please).

I was completely stable and well on that medication for years and any other Liothyronine (have tried Temag, Morningside and Thybon from Germany) is sending me into frightening atrial fibrillation, even on a much reduced dose, such that I have stopped taking it and am now become very symptomatic hypothyroid and unwell. I am on levothyroxine too, but before I was put on Liothyronine sodium in 2012 was very unwell and am not heading back to that place fast.

Equally, does anyone know where I can get a list of the ingredients in these products, so that we can see if there is a common ingredient in the ones that I can't tolerate that is not in Perrigo, so that we can work out what the problem may be. My partner is Italian and we have found a pharmacy there that will make up the tablets exactly as I need if my endocrinologist sends a prescription, but we would need to know exactly what the ingredient list is.

I'd so grateful for any help anyone is able to offer as I was so bad I used to walk with a stick, was returned to sporty health with Perrigo and can't face going back to a world where I can hardly move due to pain and injury. I'm already beginning to find it increasingly difficult to push my daughter in her buggy.

Thanks in advance.

TEVA liothyronine is okay to try. It is TEVA levothyroxine that doesn't agree with folk. you might want to give it a try until you get an answer re your preferred one

Is teva the same as temag? I sadly can’t tolerate that. Boots and my local pharmacy are now saying that they can only prescribe Morningside. They have said the NHS have only licensed that. Are you not finding the same? Thank you!

No my Boots will provide TEVA and Morninside on the NHS

TEVA and Temag are listed as different companies.

What dose T3?

Morningside is only uk license for 5mcg and 10mcg tablets

20mcg licences for Morningside, Teva and Mercury Pharma

Before Morningside was given license to supply 5mcg T3 all 5mcg tablets were only available as “special prescription “

For special prescription suppliers could charge what ever price they liked

Hi

Thanks for the info. Mine was a special prescription and it used to cost a fortune. I took 6 doses of 2.5mcg tablets per day mostly. They were capsules not tablets. When i look up Perrigo on here most people refer to having taken tablets but mine were always capsules.

I’m really struggling to find out where I can get an ingredients list.

Thanks

Hi. I was given Mayne 5mcg liothyronin tabs by my asda pharmacy. I had no issues with them and usually take thybonn. Not had them in a couple of months as 5mcg from another company now.

Hi. It was feb. My latest are Morningside!! Not had them before. Had mercury three yrs ago before rai treatment but no side effects. I’m quite lucky in that I was not autoimmune so my guts seem happy with most tabs. X

Information about ALL products licensed in the USA are listed with full details (including packaging details, ingredients, etc.) here:

To the best of my knowledge, Perrigo was sold on to Mayne Pharma, appeared to have a brief existence under another name (Libertas) then reverted to being Mayne Pharma. I cannot be absolutely certain there were no changes, but I certainly do not know of any - other than the labelling of course! :-)
