Tiromel - bad batch?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone taking Tiromel noticed a change in strength lately?

The pattern on the blister pack has changed slightly with the latest batch I received a couple months ago (see photo - new pack at the top), and it seems weaker. Is this just me? I know it’s not worth faking T3 cost wise, and this is from the same supplier I’ve used before, but something’s wrong, I don’t feel like I’m dosed right anymore.

I’m on T3 only, have been for years. I’m just terrified of going back to how I was before :(

In case I need to switch suppliers, please DM me your recommended sources, I’d be so greatful.

Thanks, Caroline.

Edit: to clarify, I don’t think it’s fake or anything, the supplier is trustworthy. I’m just wondering if this batch is weaker (manufacturing issue). It’s batch no. 18H100, exp. 12.2019 (top packet in photo)

I’m asking for other suppliers as they might have a different batch. Or I’ll try cynomel again.

I've swapped back to tiromel about 4 weeks ago and have found a few symptoms creeping back in to be honest. I normally do really well on unipharma T3 and assumed the issues were from the transition back to tiromel. It's definitely the real thing as a family friend living in turkey gets it from the pharmacy for me. When I get home I'll check the batch and expiry date, maybe we can compare.

That’d be great, thanks. Mine is batch no. 18H100, expires 12.2019

Looks like we have the same batch. Although only 2 of us having issues is not conclusive proof maybe others will see and comment.

Thanks for that :). I’m still concerned, I exercised today and ended up with a burning face which was a symptom before I was medicated... hasn’t happened in years. And I’m gaining weight. Nothing else in my lifestyle has changed.

Hi I see you have used both tiromel and unipharma. I'm going to try to switch to unipharma. I understand its stronger. Would you have a suggestion if I was on 120 tiromel what that might equal in unipharma? Thank you

Updated post with photo... which would have been a good idea to start with.

Shows how much notice I take, I didn't realise the pattern on the blister pack had changed.

I asked the question on the thyroid group on Facebook but nobody there had any issues di drew a blank I'm afraid. One person has it on great authority from family in Turkey that even pharmacies buy dodgy Tiromel to save money!!! Can't see that it would worth doing for the little it costs anyway so didn't give that comment much thought to be honest.

I have batch number 18H102, same pattern on blister pack as your new one, box the same as yours too, from a very reliable source. I haven't tried it yet, it's my emergency T3 for when I run out of my stock of Unipharma. Not much help I know, sorry :(

It does help, in that I now know for sure that the appearance change is genuine. I know I said I didn’t think it was fake, but there’s always a niggling doubt. I think it’s this batch number that’s the problem, but it could be a brand reformulation. Unfortunately I have 10 boxes of it to use....

If you could let me know your source it would help, if I get any more I don’t want the same batch.

I have just found this thread after feeling awful for the last 6 weeks ...my blood test results have been all over the place after being stable for over a year....I have several boxes of the same batch number. I'm stopping it straight away now I know other people have had a problem...I though it was just the hashimotos fluctuating!
