estrogen cream and thyroid

Some years ago I was diagnosed as having virtually no estrogen, I am post menopause (age 70) and have sub clinical hyperthyroidism and multinodular goitre ,I have been experimenting with a soy based estrogen cream and it feels like having a calming affect on me, am now thinking of adding a progesterone cream to the mix though I don't know what level that's at and am in the dark as to dosage etc .

Anyone else self medicating hormone creams and what benefits have there been?
