I need someone very knowledgeable on this topic. I take estrogen cream transdermally on my wrist. Can I take synthroid and transdermal cream at same time or does it affect absorption of synthroid

Hi, transdermal estrogen is a good way to increase by avoiding the stomach and is fine to use at the same time as Synthroid, it is often found that using any estrogen product can result in a need to slightly increase the amount of Levo as estrogen increases thyroid binding hormone (TBH)

So if you have been on Levo with low estrogen levels and then increase them it might have a knock on effect but just needs a minor adjustment 🤗

so using transdermal cream doesn’t affect the absorption of synthroid?

No, it will have the least affect on absorption as it goes through the skin straight into the blood whereas synthroid is absorbed through the stomach.

If you were taking an estrogen pill I would take them at least 4 hours apart but likely the chance of increased TBH would be the same

last question. How far would you take Lexapro away from synthroid for max benefits

It's recommended that Levo is taken on its own, empty stomach, an hour before eating and drinking anything other than water and at least 4 hours from any other medication or supplements 🤗

Some take it first thing in the morning, last thing at night or even when you get up for a pee as it really likes to be alone in your tum 😉

Would it be a problem to do one at night and other in the morning. I found estrogen use to reduce my thyroid levels a bit and progesterone increased them. Hormones are powerful and thyroxine is also a replacement hormone for thyroid, they all affect each other I think.
