Hi Hawthorns, can you edit your post to add the lab ranges in brackets after the readings? As laboratories differ in ranges, it’s important that we look at these to work out how far in the range you are percentage wise.
Please add ranges (figures in brackets after each result)
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.
Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially as you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies…….and especially as we get older
Ask GP to test vitamin levels
B12, folate, ferritin and vitamin D
Vitamin D at 800iu is likely too low a dose
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
Thank you so much..I will try and get the necessary tests done by my GP. I have had another reply asking me to edit my report, and add to it, can you please tell me how to edit my report .. thanks very much for your help.
