I was due to have bloods done yesterday because my endos 2 of them wrote to me saying I probably have primary hyperparathiyroidism because of some blood work taken last year, 2 high calcium, in May, June, then doc sent the results to endo who requested he do pth, calcium, magnesium, phosphate together, my gp did 2 pth one in June over range one in Aug over range, but they never did calcium or magnesium, they eventually did a calcium and pth together in March 21 which came bk normal the only one done so hey presto your cured, I'm still having awful symptoms, weeing constantly , so thirsty, bad bone pain, insomnia, fast heartbeat, slight shake, my thyroid bloods are all in range so it's not over medication, went yesterday to get second round of bloods to be told they were only doing calcium albumin, eGFRcreat, this is no good to test for primary hyperparathiyroidism . Calcium and pth must be done together... So I refused the draw on the grounds it would be no good for a diagnosis .. I wonder if anyone on here knows if I could get pth and calcium done privately? I'm just about done with my surgery π€
Many thanks β€οΈ

Medichecks do a pth test but you have to have it done at a London clinic. Your issue may be getting those results accepted by a Dr, many won't acknowledge private test results.
The receptionist said she would inform the gp I refused the draw.. Last year I had 2 high calciums, 2 high PTH never done together, only one was March this year as I said, and as I said I'm now cured... The last high calcium was on the 1/3,21...at 2.68...ranges 2.10...2.60....my gp didn't even bother telling me about it, again I found it in among my thyroid blood work.. Last calcium was (2.35) on march 3rd 21...i know calcium can bounce around going bk in range then going bk up again but trying to get this through to my gp is almost impossible... π€π€ I'm so sick of this surgery π π I think my only option if gp does not refer me to a surgeon is to contact PAL'S
Thanks for the reply, these symptoms are starting to affect me mentally now, I've cried most of the night on and off, sick of going to the loo especially through night, drinking loads, bone pain, insomnia, headache, yesterday after going to the surgery I went to my local tescos, the symptoms are always the same I start to walk I get weekness in my legs, start shaking my heartbeat gets fast, a bit like low bloods sugar, then I sweat profusely it runs down my face and back, I become so exhausted it's like I've ran a marathon then I need to get home, and that's it I'm totally wrecked no energy to do anything else, my thyroid bloods look OK so it's not over medication, and anyway I wouldn't be going to the loo as much as I am or drinking like a fish with over medication, I'm just about doneπ’
