Hi everyone, I wrote a rather lengthy post the other day about my latest results and I'm after some advice. I've just had a test done by Medichecks after lowering my Thyroxine and my results are below. I know I have Hashimoto's, but do these numbers indicate that I am now underactive? Aside from putting on weight since I lowered my Levo from 125mg to 100mg I'm feeling better overall, which doesn't seem to make sense!
Free T4 - 12.7 (12-22)
TSH - 5.25 (0.27-4.2)
Free T3 - 3.2 (3.1 - 6.8)
Thyroglobulin antibodies - 12.7 (0-115)
Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies - 134 (0-34)
(Unfortunately, they were unable to provide a folate reading due to a sample error, but my B12 was high, as it always is. I do take a B supplement, but no more B12 than any other B vit and yet it's been high for years).

How you feel matters a great deal, but the aim of a treated Hypo patient on Levo only, generally, is for TSH to be 1 or lower with FT4 andFT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges, if that is where you feel well.
Your TSH is over range, your FT4 and FT3 have barely scraped into the bottom of the range. Normally it would be suggested that you increase your dose of Levo.
I assume that you stopped your B Complex (or biotin if you take that) 7 days before the test as advised here otherwise it gives false results.
I did, yes. I have had high B12 for years, which is odd. Aside from the very quick and annoying weight gain I feel much better and have loads more energy. Could it be that my adrenals are working better since I lowered my dose, as I do have an issue with very low cortisol levels. My TSH was previously 0.01 for about eight years, so it's shot up since I lowered my dose.
You're welcome 😊 but I'm afraid I can't explain why you should feel better with such poor results. Just keep an eye on things, maybe do another test in 2 or 3 months, sooner if you feel things have changed.
How are you feeling now? Still better with less meds? I’m almost 45 and I feel like I could have written your posts. It feels like the peri and the hypo interact badly!
A friend of mine told me her endo said lots of women need a thyroid med dose reduction at per/memo—not sure why though.
Hello! I’m really up and down so it’s hard to say, but I think my adrenals are also a big part of the problem. I think my adrenals get drained when I have a period (my levels are already low) and then I get ill for two weeks! How are you feeling how? I think peri and thyroid issues are a rubbish combo!
