Where to get T3 online

Hi all,

I've just discovered that I may require T3. I've been on levo thyroxine for 14 years but my symptoms are worse than ever even though TSH is normal. GP spoke to endo and endo recommended testing T3 so I'm waiting for the blood test this week.

I was just wondering, if it comes back that I need it, and I can't get it prescribed here in the UK, is there anywhere you can recommend to buy it from online. I intend to speak to my GP before starting anything, I'd just like to be prepared and know where to get it if needed.

Any help would be appreciated. I understand I will need private messages in response to this post.

Thankyou

Before considering adding T3 it’s absolutely essential to get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing

Please add separate post with your latest results, say exactly what dose levothyroxine you are taking

Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine at each prescription

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

When were vitamin levels last tested

Do you have Hashimoto’s

Nether levothyroxine or T3 will work unless vitamin levels are optimal

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last third or quarter of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
