Good morning everyone. I have now worked my way upto 75mg of levothyroxine after a slow process. My current issue is I feel like the Tin Man who needs oiling. I am really stiff and in pain all over. My left ankle is quite swollen and my left foot bones hurt so much so I have been limping on occasion. I am wondering if this is due to the medication? Thyroid? or the recent flu and Covid vaccination. I say recent been that I had my flu jab in January and first Covid in March. I am wondering if the vaccines have set a flare off of something or is stiffness and pain part of underactive thyroid? Any ideas, Thank you. I don't know how I can help myself really but I will be chasing up a blood test next week as I am over due.

I get leg pain when I'm under-medicated - so it will be worth getting those blood tests done. See if you can get ALL the tests you need - so ideally TSH, free T4, free T3, antibodies (unless you know these are high) and key nutrients - ferritin, folate, vit D and B12. I've had some success with my GP by saying that these are the tests recommended by Thyroid UK. But if not, can you treat yourself to private testing?
Hi Fuchsia-pink, I feel like a tinman too. I need to eat quickly as all of sudden, i feel like i can not move, and need to sit down. Food quickly makes it better. Also, I have terrible legs and feet pains. I cant walk sometimes. Feet/legs are very sensitive to slightest cold. The pains cover the back of feet, ankles, and bottoms. Another thing, as i get worse with underactive throid, i find lots of marks and prints left by clothes, socks in the ankle, arm areas. Does anyone else experience this? Help.
