I am using Liotir now. I like it. The only problem is that you put the drops into a small amount of water. This can be difficult when you are out somewhere. I take T4 once a day and T3 four times a day. This is what works for me. When I first started using T3 from different manufacturers I found changing difficult. I think that was because my Endo was changing my dose every 2 months. Now that I am self treating and stable, I can change manufacturers.
I have not used the Sandofi. I have used Liotir, Mayne, sigma pharm, and Mexican cynomel. When I change I go on how I feel. With the Liotir you can make small adjustments very SLOWLY.
Right now I am taking Liotir at home and sigma pharm when away from home.
Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.
I take 50 mcg T4 in the morning. I take 7 drops of Liotir at 6:45.I take 7 drops of Liotir at 10:00, 7 drops of Liotir at 13:00, and 4 drops of Liotir at13:00. It took me 2 years to work out my schedule. This schedule may not work for anyone else in the world, but it works for me. I have been taking thyroid hormones since 1995. I started with just T4 and quickly changed to Armour. Armour was changed in 2006 and I never felt well on it. I changed to T3 T4 combination in 2011.
I prefer Liotir to other T3. With shut downs I have to use what I can get. The Liotir seems to work faster. The other T3 in tablet form is much slower acting for me. Also since each drop is about 0.75 mcg of T3, it is easier to change dose.
The last Liotir that I bought was about €13. It would be easy to try it and see how your body likes it.
Ask me any more questions that you have. Good luck.
I am a small woman (51 kg.). I have Hashimoto’s and no longer have any functioning thyroid tissue. I have homozygous DIO 1 and heterozygous DIO 2 genes. I am a very poor converter. With more T4 I feel shaky and agitated. With a higher dose of T3 or less frequent dosing I feel dreadful and over medicated. I am very sensitive to medication. I cannot take different doses of T4 on different days.
With this schedule my FT4 is barely in range and my FT3 is 70% range. I feel good and stable with these numbers.
When I tried to take T3 less frequently with more per dose, the highs and lows of the dose were unbearable. My Endo told me to take T3 in two doses, but she also said that I had to work it out for myself. In two doses I had a very agitated 30 minutes after the dose and about an hour slump before the next dose. I tried taking a dose at night and then I couldn’t sleep. I tried a dose in the wee hours of the morning and then I felt bad in the morning. I really experimented for 2 years to find what works for me. Luckily T3 mistakes wear off rather quickly, so you can experiment.
I take my T3 with food and drink, not on an empty stomach. T3 hits my stomach too hard when it is empty.
As I said I may be the only person for whom this schedule works. It works well for me. I have alarms on my phone going off all day. When I leave the house, I have a small glass bottle with my meds in my pocket.
You really have to figure out what works for you as an individual. I know that it is really difficult!!
