Where can I buy NDT online?

Hello! Just one of many thousands asking the same question... where can I buy NDT online? I am looking to start my journey of natural thyroid and could really do with any reputable sources to purchase it online ( in the event I need to self medicate). Also, I’m close to London and saw a thread on endos willing to prescribe it? If anyone could PM me those details that would be great. My experience with thyroid issues has been long and painful to say the least and I react badly to Levo. I am anticipating the ‘no’ reaction from my GP, so want to cover all bases. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you x

Hello Lizzie and welcome to the forum ;

If you go into the Thyroid uk website you can see that there are pharmacies in the UK who stock Natural Desiccated Thyroid but you will need a private prescription.

You will also see Thyroid uk offer a list of " recommended sympathetic endos and specialists" both NHS and private who are more likely to help you in treating you with your preferred option. First do your research into these specialists and then should your doctor support you in a referral, suggest someone you prefer and on this list, and try this route first, thereby having some support through the " system " .

Currently world wide supplies of NDT are erratic and seem to be at an all time low :

I would suggest that at this point in time to try to stay within the " system ' with a guaranteed supply chain, as if self medicating the various supply chains we " enjoyed " just a year ago are now not there - and we have no idea when and if they will be reinstated.

You can send for the list of thyroid friendly endos from Dionne at ThyroidUK:

Then you can ask for members to send you feedback by private message on any that you can travel to (we can't discuss individual doctors on the forum so any information has to be by private message).

As for NDT, if you don't have a prescription then we can't discuss where to obtain it on the forum and, again, information will have to be sent to you by private message if anyone can help.
