Hi after 20 years on Levothyroxine, I am awaiting a private prescription for Armour NDT to begin trialling. I have been advised from the Endo that as this is not available on the NHS ( which is appalling) that I may need to shop around for online pharmacies. Obviously this is new territory to me and I contacted one who said it would be £150 almost for 100 tablets!! Is this about right? Or can anybody message me to advise of a bone fide pharmacy in the UK where I could get these from more cost effectively? Any help much appreciated.

Where to Buy Armour NDT in UK
Hello Trish
There is a list of UK pharmacies on the Thyroid UK website who supply NDT working from the prescription supplied by you.
Those of us who can't get a prescription source our own NDT from various other places.
Oh great thanks very much for this info. Stupid question where on the site is this info stored. I have had a look around and can't find the info. Many thanks
You need to check out the Thyroid uk website where all things for all thyroid sufferers are routinely displayed and updated, and maybe, consider joining the charity as it does so much to help all of us.
Difficult to find on the (New) website
Here it is
Hey there Trish
Just to add, NDT is available on the NHS - on a " named patient basis " only :
What this means is that your doctor has to be supportive of your request and apply to the local CCG to sanction your prescription on the NHS :
If you look at - open prescribing - analyse you can search by CCG and primary care surgeries if any NDT prescriptions are being honoured in your catchment area.
