Metavive/glandular absorbtion

Ok I thought I would ask about this new thing happening now... Been advised to do it as a new question after i posted it here: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

The last 2 days as I could not wake up early enough to take my Metavive with water only and wait for an hour to have my tea quite milky and sweet..lol... I have taken my Metavive with my tea and strangely enough I felt better for it I seem to have read somewhere that NDT and Glandular may be more effective taken with drink or food can someone help me with this or direct me to other posts or site about it. Thanks. 🙂

Yes thank you so much, i also wanted hopefully to have other members sharing their experiences andunderstand if glandular absorbtion is different to Levo and NDT.

I can't help there I'm afraid. As the glandulars can't state amounts of T4 and T3 it may be difficult to compare them with NDT and Levo.

I’ve read that Dr P took metavive with food as glandular is better absorbed with food that’s why I take it with my breakfast now xx

Thank you yes I am doing this now and it seems to help 2 weeks on 2 Metavive II and 1 Metavive I and I feel OK a bit of sleepiness around 5pm but I had that on thyroid S. Going to keep it that way and see how things are in another 2 weeks. Because i was on too low of a dose for six weeks I have to let my body assimilate the dose I am in now for at least another month to balance it out hopefully it is working for me which would be fantastic. xx

How many Metavive are you on now? You were on thyrogold weren't you but is bovine, bovine contains less T3 (i think around 2/5th less) so if you are a bad converter you will need more to compensate. Also I really think the nucleotide seems to improve absorbtion now with 2.5 Metavive I am feeling quite good but it could change after few weeks (also i do not have the symptoms I had with the lower dose tingling around my mouth headaches and feeling low i also just had an UTI wich maybe or not due to my kidney getting too slow symptoms may creep back up will let you know did not check my heartbeat the last 2 mornings) . I think if thyrogold existed in porcine you may have had to take arround 225 mg not sure with Metavive, i would say my dose is now 75 mg of dried gland but i expect to need at least 100 mg i feel you may need because of the nucleotides help with absorbtion maybe 150 mg Metavive but this is just a guess continue increasing slowly 1 Metavive I every 2 weeks and increase again when you feel you are undermedicated... Will let you know if my symptoms are back. Take care xx
