After taking thyrogold for 8 weeks after the Tru thyroid trail I have new results back. Are these good ? I’d appreciate feedback please? I feel a lot better than when I took Tru thyroid
TSH 0.05 range 0.22-4.2
FT3 5.5 range 3.1-6.8
FT4 13.8 range 12-22

Those results are fairly typical of someone who takes NDT - suppressed TSH, low in range FT4 and upper range FT3. Your FT4 is 18% through range and your FT3 is 64.86% through range.
Some people would need a higher FT4 and there is still some room for FT3 to increase.
Rather than looking at blood results, we should always go with how 'we feel' on a particular thyroid hormone replacement. Dose is gradually increased dose until we're symptom-free.
Thyrogold was invented by Dr John Lowe (deceased) with the purpose that it didn't need a doctor's prescription. When treating patients he only took one blood test for the diagnosis and thereafter it was small increases until the patient was symptom-free.
Well, I'm not sure comparing anything with Tru Thyroid is of any help.
I thought it had been proved useless in a trial someone kindly guinea pigged for and am upset for everybody who purchased this in good faith and hope everybody has received a refund.
Well these numbers look good but it's all about how you are feeling - and I fully accept that when you have been unwell for so long you can tend to question your own being !!
Generally when on NDT the TSH goes down as does the T4 with the T3 rising :
In fact it could be seen that your % through the ranges do a turnaround with T3 being up near the top and with your T4 being down near the bottom ;
Optimal vitamins and minerals still need to be maintained so to be able to convert the T4 content of the medication :
I don't think a low T4 matters as it is a storage hormone and needs to convert to T3 which is the active hormone that gives you your wellness - too high a level of T3 and you'll start to experience symptoms of hyperthyroid and conversely too low a level of T3 and you'll start to experience symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Since you are in the driving seat you can try a little more : just monitor your symptoms including your blood pressure and body temperature ;
You can always drop back down again if you go too far as with any form of NDT you simply dose to the relief of symptoms and not a blood test, range or computer tick box score card.
Hi not many had done trial on Tru I was one of the few. No I haven’t received a refund or anything.
I still feel very tired but I think it might be menopause now not thyroid maybe ? Who knows. I’m having a test this Friday for hormones and thyroid at the doctors so hope they don’t moan at me about too low TSH as they don’t like the NDT approach there.
If you leave 24 hours between dose and blood draw you'll get lower T3 and T4 levels which a doctor may be more used to seeing and not worrying about but your TSH will take longer to rise, if it ever does.
I'm on 1+1/2 NDT and my TSH is 0.01 : my T4 comes in at around 20% - 40% and my T3 comes in at around 90-110 % through these ranges which were introduced to be used for dosing and monitoring synthetic T3 and T4 :
Although on a constant dose the differences in my results result from time lapse from last dose/blood draw and having eaten.
Hopefully once there is availability of NDT with the exacting dose content of the T3 and T4 in each grain, you will find another option worth considering.
Well if they moan I’ll just say I’ll reduce my dose and then avoid there tests in future but it’s useful they r testing for menopause etc
Yes I’ll try the thyroid s when it becomes available again if there’s nothing else but for now I’ll stay with thyrogold no more experiments for me on new brands
Good news! Have you improved more since you started this thread? According to Stop The Thyroid Madness, FT4 should be midrange and FT3 top of range. But if you are feeling well, that is what counts.
Tru is working well for me, I ordered my second batch. I'd still prefer Thyroid S, but if it has become even more expensive, I could not keep buying it anyway. For now, I am keeping my order until I know more. Which could be well into next year.
Hi Paquitacat yes good news but unfortunately the thyrogold I was taking is now not available due to raw materials shortage so I’m trialing metavive II now
The Tru thyroid didn’t work for me unfortunately so glad it’s working for you have you had bloods done on it ? Are u on new or old brand ?
I’m hoping the metavive will be as good as thyrogold for me.
