Metavive vs NDT

Does anyone take Metavive in place of NDT who doesn’t have a thyroid? Is it possible to live and have good thyroid levels in you’re blood whilst taking Metavive alone ?

I have half a thyroid and have been taking Metavive since December. My TSH is gradually reducing and my T4 and FT3 are gradually increasing. I know some people don’t get on with it but it seems to be working for me.

I have no thyroid after cancer in 2002 just started Metavive, since I can't get any NDT, how much do you take and does anyone have any blood test results for Metavive to show TSH is suppressed. It seems to be working much better than Levo for me.

Thanks

I started on one metavive 111 and am now up at 1 metavive 1V and 1 metavive 111 daily. I was never overtly hypothyroid but my poor half thyroid wasn’t functioning well and it was heading in that direction. I’ve gradually increased over a period of several months. I’m definitely feeling better but I don’t need to suppress my TSH because i still have half a thyroid. My TSH wasn’t ideal at the last test but it’s going down and I’m feeling so much better.

Do you know Medavive 111 and 1V are bovine , only 1 and 11 are porcine, I guess that works as well, I take1 Metavive 1 &11. and 1, 60mg Thiroyd NDT to start.

Yes, I originally started on Metavive 1 but ended up with palpitations so I wondered if it was something to do with the composition as I have multiple food intolerances and the change seems to have helped.

Hi, I was taking 3 Metavive 11 a day but felt slightly fuzzy headed and wanted to get some NDT before I ran out, so I had to see a private Dr. to get a prescription, and I am trying Erfa thyroid, I have switched to same 2.25grains per day, the same as the Thai thiroyd I was taking for 10 years before, with no thyroid I need to just switch dose, but am very annoyed that I paid the same for 150 grains in UK as 2,000gr.s from Thailand and with the Dr. fee I could have got 4,000 grains posted. What a mess were in?

Just got my blood test from when I was on half Metavive11x 2 and half NDT 1gr.;

TSH 0.02 free T4 14 (12-24) free T3 5.2 (3.1-6.8) B12; 229(200-960) seems a bit low? I have more with no ranges.

Happy New Year To All

Hi there, I increased every 6-8 weeks after doing blood tests. It apparently takes 6-8 weeks to have an effect. I’m now on 1 x. Metavive IV and 1 x Metavive III daily and my blood tests results are the best they’ve been for years. My TSH is below 2 and my FT3 and FT4 are both in the upper half of acceptable.
