Hi everyone, about 2 months ago I started taking slow T3 (10 milligrams) with the advise of my Endocrinology Dr, along with my Levo 150 mil. Yesterday I got my blood test results back (see below) and I would be happy if someone could tell me if it's actually working, cause some of the results are still off....

Some background: I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto 3 years ago after a long period of all the symptoms we all familiar with. Been put on levo 120 and increased almost immediately to 150. Been like this for 3 years, where the symptoms come and go and my GF diet isn't strict as It should. No weight loss...

6 months ago I had my first blood test in a while and the results were out of balanced (TSH-8, T3 Free- 4.5, T4Free- 14.0), called my Dr. and together we decided I should start with Slow T3 10 mil a day with my levo 150 mil. I'm feeling okish, still no weight loss, eating slightly better, I feel more active, more awake, but it could be also because I started taking vitamins (B12, Iron liquid). I just need to know if I'm on the right path...

MY current results:

TSH 0.02 My lowest ever! (0.55-4.78)

T3FRee 6.0 (3.5-6.5)

T4Free 25.9 (10-20)

TRANSFERRIN 279.8

FERRITIN 27.2 (10-291)

DHEA 3.31 (0.9-11.6)

THYROGLOBULIN 16.90 (0.8-55)

THYROGLPBULIN ab 24.20 (10-40)

Anti Thyroid Peroxid - Above 1300

Thank you!

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Ferritin is very low. You need regular full iron panel test for anaemia when taking iron supplements

Was last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Your Ft4 is above range. You may benefit from reducing levothyroxine a little. Perhaps by 12.5mcg and retest in 6-8 weeks

I took Levo & ST3 the morning of my test (I thought my test was a day after, I got confused)

Ok ...ignore the suggestion to reduce levothyroxine

Retest again in 6-8 weeks doing last dose correctly

Thank you, will do. Does it mean at least that ST3 is working? Any experience with that?

See you are in Israel

I don’t think anyone in UK is ever prescribed slow release T3

We generally get 20mcg tablets and cut up using craft scalpel into 5mcg or 10mcg doses split through the day

Eg 10mcg at 7am, 5mcg 3pm and 5mcg at 11pm

Only 3 licensed suppliers to NHS here ...all charge extremely high price ...hence so difficult for UK patients to get prescribed

28 tablets of 20mcg T3 £178

In EU 100 tablets of 20mcg is 31 euro

Not what you're looking for?
