There is a brazilian doctor who treats immune disease (including graves disease) using high doses of vit d. Please do a research on Cicero Galli Coimbra. My cousin has MS and she is well now with vit d.

This latest study shows Vitd supplementation doesn't prevent Graves relapse.
It is not a cure but it makes u reach remission. No?
According to the study the only difference it made was a few months delay before relapse. It certainly wouldn't have helped me because I cannot take Vitd supplements in any form.
Hey there Santos
There are several doctors out there offering to cure Graves in alternative ways to those in the mainstream.
If you haven't heard of Elaine Moore Graves Disease Foundation website it's an excellent website on all things Graves from the pros and cons of conventional treatment options through to many other alternative, more holistic actions that work for some people to reduce down their immune system.
The reality is Graves is an auto immune disease and the thyroid the victim of an attack by your own immune system.
The reality is mainstream medical do not know how to control or reduce the AI component of this disease so think it makes sense to remove the target of the attack, the thyroid.
Treating the symptoms expressed and ignoring the cause - your immune system.
I'm with Graves, diagnosed in 2003 and had my thyroid ablated with RAI in 2005 :
I was well on the anti thyroid medication and my symptoms minimal to others who I read of on here - I deeply regret this treatment and have been very ill because of the consequences of RAI treatment and compounded by the lack of effective management and treatment of my hypothyroidism.
I am now self medicating with full thyroid hormone replacement and much improved and getting my life back.
I think stress might have a lot to do with it. When I first became ill I had watched a very close friend who I had known since we were teenagers die a painful death. Shortly after that I started to get symptoms which my GP said was the menopause. This went on for over 2 years and I was very thin and ill by then. About 4 years ago I had another relapse after a very traumatic year. I now try to keep myself calm which isn't easy at the moment with the coronavirus.
Yes: ditto : my Graves was diagnosed 4 months after I'd been physically stood over and verbally abused by an unprovoked attack from a man I took on as my assistant manager !!
In my case. as maybe in many people's cases, the mainstream treatment is a bit like using a sledge hammer to crack a nut :
Just wish this site was around in the early 2000's and I hadn't blinding trust in the medical establishment, who I thought had my best interests at heart and took an oath to " first - do no harm " ?????
One of the first things my Endo said to me was we can give you RAI or remove your thyroid and then you will take a pill everyday for the rest of your life. He implied it was a quick fix but I wasn't convinced and did not want to have RAI or have surgery so I took Carbimazole and then PTU. He didn't monitor me properly and my TSH went up to 9 and I felt ill. When I told him this and got a bit tearful he offered me counseling. I then got up and told him he was no longer my doctor. It was the best decision I ever made walking out and although I had a thyroid storm last year at the moment I feel ok.
