I have been on the current incarnation of WP thyroid now for just over two weeks. I loved the previous WP thyroid and on one and a half grains felt brilliant. I have previously felt excellent on Armour but as my health board will not prescribe it and as it is so expensive, I chose to try WP again as it worked last time. Even though I started on one and a half grains which I have increased to two and a half grains I feel completely 'unmedicated' and am struggling hugely. I have contacted the makers and have received their 'stock' answer, that nothing has changed and they have the highest standards of quality control and check thyroid hormone amounts meticulously. This, for me, however cannot be true! Does anyone else have the same problems please?

Is anyone experiencing problems on the new WP thyroid?
I have been on WP for just over a year now and until recently when I had a fall, which led onto a UTI and a couple of days into antibiotics for that, I had quick onset glaucoma. This has been dealt with, but although my blood results have been good, I now feel very acidic and wonder if the eye drops, one lot of steroids for a fortnight and pressure lowering ones for 4 weeks have affected my blood levels. As I never used the original WP I have nothing to measure them against. I shall leave it a couple of weeks to see if things improve now I am off the eye drops. I did get up to 1 1/2 grains, but had to lower it to 1 1/4 grains as my chest seemed to feel tight. This resolved once I had reverted back to 1 1/4 again. Sorry I can't help you more, but feel that they do work for me normally.
U.S. thyroid groups have been reporting for a few years now that the "new" Nature Throid and WP Thyroid (both by RLC Labs), along with NP Thyroid (which has just been recalled) just aren't working anymore. Armour is only working for some. Most of us are now taking synthetic T4 plus added synthetic T3. Some are on T3 only. Frustrating! What's happened to our NDT?!
Can you tell me wher did you get your WP prescription? In my area it seems impossible to find GP prescribing NDT
I have been doing really well on WP Thyroid over the last few years, but I've been feeling dreadful for the last 3 months. I too have felt 'unmedicated', and contacted my pharmacist to see if he had had any other complaints about it.
Now I'm reading about the recall from RLC, and it all makes sense!
