New results ..more confused now :-/

Hi everyone ,i hope you are all doing as well as you can be .

So i have had another set of tests done

And the results are a bit different.

First test is on the left and the second on the right.

So now the paroxidase has dipped under the range bringing it into the normal zone ,my thyroglobulin has come up slightly but also my T4 is lower than before T3 is higher.

Doctors tested me but their T4 was 9.9 mol

They only tested TSH and T4 from what i can gather .

Which results do i believe ?Im so confused :-(

Could the paroxidase have come down because ive gone gluten free the last 3 weeks or so ?

Any thoughts would be great ..

Fed up with being in no mans land feeling like crapola.

Thankyou .x

You believe all of them, because each one was a photo of the situation at the time the blood was drawn. You can't expect levels to stay static for every test. And, some things will vary according to the time of day the blood was taken. Were they all three taken at the same time of day?

If we look at each item separately...

TSH: it has gone down slightly, but not enough to shout about. So many things can affect the TSH, that a slight difference like that is negligeable. But, it could be reacting to your higher FT3.

FT4/3: once again, the difference is so slight that it doesn't change much as far as dose is concerned. It could be accounted for by a slight increase in conversion, which - again - can be affected by many, many things. And, we can't take the FT4 done by your doctor into account, because you haven't given the range. Is it the same as the other two?

Antibodies: they fluctuate all the time, and it's absolutely meaningless. The TPO are now in-range again, but only just. And next week they could be through the roof. But, it still doesn't mean anything. Once you've had an over-range results, it means you have Hashi's, and Hashi's doesn't go away whatever the antibodies do.

In any case, you are slightly under-medicated to have a TSH of nearly 2, so an increase in dose would probably be in order. :)

Hello greygoose .Thankyou so much again .

You have confirmed to me what needed .

I am not medicated at all .

My doctor did not accept previous results and thats why i did them again privately.

To prove that two seperate results taken on seperate days were very unlikely to be wrong.

Now that the peroxidase has gone back into range (all be it by 0.5 ) That is what was concerning me in terms of being told yet again theres nothing wrong when i know that there is .

No i took the first test at 11.00 a.m after a cup of tea and the second at about 8.00 a.m fasting a few weeks later .

I am not sure what the GPsT4 ranges are but i will be grabbing my results from them soon.

Thanks again and i apologise , i feel like im on a bit of a roller coaster with no where really to turn since ive just been left with all these questions.

My daughter is now in the same boat so feeling depressed and unwell ..Thanks grey goose your feeback is much appreciated.

Your TPOab may be in-range, now, but your TgAB are still high. There's no doubt you have Hashi's. But, you aren't actually hypo, so that's why your doctor is saying there's nothing wrong with you. He doesn't know anything about Hashi's - none of them do.

Thankyou greygoose ...I think what has been concerning me is a progressive worsening of the voice constriction ive had for a long time, amongst many other things ..hair falling out ,breathlesness etc etc all getting worse by the week it seems... I will be seeing an endo sometime in the future ..so will see what they say..thankyou very much for your time ..🙂

Yes many of us with hashimoto’s find TPO antibodies slowly reduce once in strictly gluten free diet

Your Ft3 has improved too

Have you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested?

in reply to SlowDragon

Hi slowdragon ..Oh has it? i didnt realise ..Im still learning about ranges really :-)

No i didnt bother with the vitamins this time as a know pretty much where they are from a couple of weeks ago ..vit d low all the rest are ok ..:-) Thanks for your reply ..:-)

Oh ..and just to add :-) so if those levels start to come down and more importantly stay down? And this is also what happens to a lot of other Hashi people ..then that is really massively telling that gluten has been causing issues ..and have been for years ?...🤔 if my levels are coming down because of my diet then it has to be gluten related ..as i was already vegie /vegan ..interesting ..
