Hi I’m from the USA

I’ve been hypothyroid since 2012

I would say I feel pretty good now!

I was just diagnosed with osteoporosis

I have been on NP thyroid for 4 years

3 months ago they changed their formula

Some people said it smelled like cat pee

I mentally decided to continue taking it

I held my nose then swallowed the pill

Just got my test results back

Will see endo to discuss next week

My question is

Do they look good?

I noticed he didn’t get the free t4

I can ask my primary for other test when I see him in March

Let me know what you all think about these numbers, thank you in advanced!

Free T-3 is 3.0. Range is 2.0-4.4

Reverse T-3 serum is 10.4. Range is 9.2-24.1

T-4 Thyroxine is 0.83. Range is 0.83. Range is

0.82-1.77

TSH is 0.205. Range is 0.450-4.500

Hi Diana

If you feel pretty good I would guess the results are good! Though I don't understand this result "T-4 Thyroxine is 0.83. Range is 0.83. Range is

0.82-1.77"

But what are you taking for the osteoporosis?

And have you had your vitamin D3 tested? If so what was the result? You almost certainly need Vitamin D supplemented, especially in the winter.

Maybe SeasideSusie can help?

The numbers look good and you feel good, so no problem! Too much thyroid hormone can cause hypothyroidism but your TSH of 0.205 suggests you are not on too much. As you have just been diagnosed with osteoporosis it will take many months to notice a difference, just take the vitamin D and try to do some load bearing exercise.

Have a look at the link above. The laboratory ref ranges are different in the US but the tests measure the same things. Not sure that you haven’t had FT4 tested already?

Free T4 is the small unbound fraction of T4, most T4 (and T3) is bound to proteins and not available. Usually free T4 is a useful measurement but you are on NDT which contains little T4 and so the free T4 assay isn’t much use in your case.
