ANY HELP WITH PARATHYROID/THYROID ADVICE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED

HI All

I am hypo with hashis

My Main symptom is muscle aches

My latest Medichecks from 9/1/20

TSH 0.912. (0.22-4.2)

FT3. 5.66. (3.1-6.8)

FT4. 17.3. (12-22)

TGO. 392. (<115)

TPO. 61.5. (<34)

Have been on NDT 1.5 for a few months now and the TSH, FT3, FT4 numbers above are where everybody says you should be to be asymptomatic

However, the muscle aches are getting worse by the week

I have to say that the aches are ALWAYS best at my first wake from sleep at around 0400-0500 for the loo

HOwever, When I finally get up at about 0900, the aches are back again!

So, saw my GP yesterday and told him all the above

Straight away, he said that the above slightly better aches at 0400 MAY be parathyroid related

And has referred me to the endo

'Researching' today, I was unable to any make any sense of how this can be parathyroid related

Btw, my last Calcium on 4/4/19 was 2.40 (2.2-2.6)

Corrected calcium 2.43 same range

I am aware there is a link - calcium/parathyroid

I take 1.2g calcium and 15ug D a day

I would be very grateful for any tips please, thank you

VitD in itself can improve the uptake of calcium from foods. Are you taking VitK2- MK7 ? It directs calcium away from soft tissue and arteries and into bones and teeth.

Perhaps the extra calcium is not needed.

Thank you marz

I have been taking K2 Mk 7 for 2 years now

Your antibodies are very high

High TG antibodies are linked to symptom burden

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/303...

Elevated TgAb levels are associated with symptom burden in HT patients, suggesting a role of thyroid autoimmunity in clinical manifestations of HT.

NDT may cause antibodies to increase

Gluten free diet is low in magnesium

When supplementing vitamin D, magnesium is recommended

Tight muscles can be low magnesium

If vitamin D is low, B vitamins may be too. As explained by Dr Gominack

Hi Slow Dragon and Marz

Can you shed any light on why my GP said that my improved aches at 0400-0500 were parathyroid related?

Thanks
