On my t3 combo trial and feel just about as rubbish as always so did some early bloods.

On 75 mcg t4 and 20 mcg t3.

Levo was taken morning before about 22 hours before and t3 split into 3 doses and last 5 mcg taken 9-10 hours before.

So......

12/4/21 On 75mcg levo and 10mcg t3

Tsh 2.63 (0.27 - 4.2) T4 13.4 (12 - 22) T3 4.2 (3.1 - 6.8)

17/5/21 On 75mcg levo and 20mcg t3

Tsh 0.14 T4 9.9 T3 4.5 (ranges same as above)

I am not due to see the endo for another month but I have decided to email him and wondered what I should request? I need to do something as I feel lousy.

Thank you in advance!

Ft4 is likely far too low.

request 25mcg dose increase in levothyroxine

Retest in 6-8 weeks

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

Are you on strictly gluten free diet

I take vit d, b complex and b12. Selenium. Magnesium. I have upped my iron intake from food as the gastroenterologist said he wouldn’t be happy with me supplementing due to serum iron being highish. Did think I’d ask endocrinologist opinion on this though as well. Not gluten free.

I will request a levo increase again. I would be surprised if he increased t3 again rather than the levo. More than anything because of the price but I would of thought a raise in Levothyroxine last time would have been preferable on price too so I will wait and see.

Thanks Slowdragon.

Increase in levothyroxine will also help increase Ft3

Looking for Ft4 and Ft3 roughly 50-60% through range

All four vitamins optimal

Assuming you have Hashimoto’s, strictly gluten free diet often helps or is essential getting coeliac blood tests done BEFORE cutting gluten out

On your profile you say you have hyper mobility - EDS

Many EDS members have Hashimoto’s and find strictly gluten free diet essential

I had a biopsy for coeliac. Negative but I take your point from other posts about being intolerant rather than allergic.

It was hyper mobility when I was diagnosed. There was some wondering about the connection between EDS then but I don’t think I put EDS on my profile just Hypermobile. For me I thought that was rubbish. I’m bendy yes. I tipped the scale on the tests. My joints slip about but my wrists do not dislocate when I do the washing up which is what they said was happening!

I did try gluten free for just under year about 10 years ago and I didn’t notice any difference to me apart from more shopping lol.

Thanks again Slowdragon.

Was that before being on levothyroxine?

Levothyroxine seems to exacerbate gluten intolerance

I wasn’t aware of that. 🤔 thanks.
