Hi just had test results back for thyroid.. I followed protocol and ceased all meds for 2 days prior to testing. Am self medicating with metavive IV .. one tab every day and approx 4mg of T3 every few days depending on symptoms.
I can’t seem to upload all 3 pics
Serum folate 8.9 ug/l (deficient if under 3.9 )
Serum ferritin 40ug/L (30.0 - 400.0)
Serum B12 - 812ng/L (197.0 - 771.0)
TSH below range 0.07 mIU/L (0.27 - 4.2)
Free T4 12 pmol/L (12.0-22.0)

I don't know of any protocol that says you have to stop the meds for two days. With Metaviv it should be 8 to 12 hours.
But, you cannot dose T3 like that. You will totally confuse your body and retard any recovery. With T3 you need to take the same dose every single day.
I'm afraid those results don't contain any results for thyroid. Sorry.
Hi Greygoose .. thanks .. I see I was medicating with T3 depending on hyper -type symptoms but clearly I’m not understanding the process. I edited my post with the rest of the results .. can you see them yet? Many thanks
Do you mean depending hypo-type symptoms? You wouldn't take T3 if you were hyper.
You can only up-load one photo per thread on here, I'm afraid.
Well, your ferritin is very low. That really needs further investigation.
Your B12 is good - are you supplementing? But your folate could be higher.
Your thyroid results are meaningless because there's no FT3. Metavive contains T3, so the TSH and FT4 are going to be low, but to see if you're on the right dose, you need the FT3 tested. Were these done by your doctor or privately?
Thanks Greygoose.. I’m so foggy headed It didn’t even register that T3 hadn’t been done. Have had 2 x private done suggesting in the last 18 months suggesting hypo with poor conversion. Latest is with NHS. Will seek out private again.
Labs cannot suggest poor conversion if you are taking T3. You need to be on T4 only to see how well you convert. When taking T3 all they can suggest is under or over-medication, or the right dose.
It's absolutely essential with any T3 medication to take EXACTLY the same dose everyday
Get bloods retested after a minimum of 6-8 weeks on constant unchanging dose
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
If/when also on T3, or METAVIVE make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
