Following my wife’s latest thyroid review, we were again told there was no change with the NHS not supplying T3 again!
We sourced a supply from the USA last time but that price has increased, trying to find an alternative source and in looking have come across Tiromel (also known as Cytomel), but cant find any reviews on it, does anybody use it on here and if so is it safe?

I've had my T3 checked awaiting results I wrote to my Msp and recieved form within 2 days so I've everything ready once I know the results this is shocking that people have been told to stop taking T3 we shouldn't need to be fighting for medication that our bodies need to function good luck and keep us posted x
I'm not sure where Cytomel is made but it isn't Turkey. And I'm fairly sure that the name is used for T3 by quite a few manufacturers.
Online sellers of T3 often use the word "Cytomel" because they know that many of their customers are familiar with that name for T3. It doesn't mean you'll necessarily see the word "Cytomel" on the product you receive in the post.
I've been using Tiromel for several years. In fact I've never tried any other make. It's always been okay for me.
Cytomel is made in the US, isn't it? Cynomel is made in Mexico and France. In Greece it's just called T3. And there are other names I can't remember. It's all T3. I've tried most of them and haven't had any problems with any of them.
I get T3 brand names muddled up, I'm afraid, so can't be sure about anything.
I've even seen the name Cynomel or Cytomel (can't remember which) used on an Indian website, and to my surprise, with some digging I found out the product they were selling was actually Levothyroxine! I've never bought from India, but that experience made me very dubious about doing so, because I got the impression the retailer went out of their way to confuse potential customers.
Cytomel that we think of as the classic Cytomel, from Pfizer (formerly King), appears to be from the USA but is actually manufactured by a German company and I have seen labelling saying both Germany and Austria - quite possibly made in two factories.
There is also a product branded Cytomel in the Netherlands. (But not from Pfizer.) They make 5, 12.5 and 25 microgram tablets.
