Unipharma and Tiromel problems

I have been on Unipharma T3 for years and been trying Tiromel at the same dose (12.5 a day) but am not sleeping well and have headaches, tinnitus, depression, constipation, dizziness and feeling sick. I have decided that this must be me changing my T3 rather than other things but I don't know if I just can't tolerate the Tiromel or if I need to lower or higher it?! i don't see why I should react to the ingredients in the pill (although i don't know what they are!) but more that it is having a bigger or lesser effect.

Can someone please tell me if they have tried both and if they have had similar problems and what they did about it?

Do I need more or less or try and find Unipharma again? (although they were from Greece)

Thank you

This information needs confirmation as my document is somewhat old, but the Tiromel ingredients were:

6. PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES

6.1. List of excipients

Lactose

Polyvinylpyrrolidone

Starch

Magnesium Stearate

What on earth is Polyvinylpyrrolidone?

Also known as povidone. :-)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyv...

Not to be confused with the closely related povidone-iodine.

Thanks - Last time I looked up Povidone I thought I must avoid it. Maybe it could be a reaction to that then?

I personally find Tiromel weaker than Unipharma

I think that is what I my body is saying but not sure at my brain is whirling around and has stopped me sleeping well and I thought that was too much T3? How much weaker do you think it is?

I use roughly twice as much, but I would think its really a personal thing. Also how well your liver is functioning, has a lot to do with it as thats where most of it gets converted.

hi I tried Tiromel first and had a really bad reaction a 4 day migraine and burst blood vessel in my eye and I only took 06.25 mcg , it really scared me and stopped it straight away, I then changed to Unipharma and thankfully I have been ok and really well on it , Im very sensitive and can only tolerate mercury pharma or accord thyroxine, so it could definitely be the aTiromel in my experience.

That sounds bad! I have this headache that is unpleasant on it atm. Can you let me know where you get your Unipharma from? How much do you take of it? Thanks

I wonder if that reaction was to the Povidone now I think of it?

Povidone is used in over five and a half thousand medicines in the UK! (Some of those will be different dosages rather than totally different medicines - but still a large number.)

Including analgesics like paracetamol, antihistamines, antibiotics, indigestion/antacids, disinfectants, and goodness knows what else.

That doesn't mean it is not the povidone, but most of us will have taken medicines containing it over the years.
