T3 Tiromel

Hi everyone Has anyone experienced a possible bad batch of Tiromel T3 recently.

I feel my current batch I received recently are not suiting me.

Just feel fatigue and palpitations again.

When I tried my old batch again, I had a few left over, I felt well again.

Any advice?

I self source T3 from a recommendation on this site and have never had a problem before now.

Thanks in advance

Sorry, I can't help you directly but I thought it would be useful to forum members if you posted the batch number and expiry date of the Tiromel that worked for you and the Tiromel that didn't, making clear which was which. :)

What I would do if I was in your situation :

1) If the T3 you aren't getting on well with makes you feel under-medicated then cut a tablet into 4 with a scalpel and add a quarter tablet to your daily dose to see if it improves how you feel.

2) If the T3 you aren't getting on well with makes you feel over-medicated then cut your daily dose into 4 with a scalpel and subtract a quarter tablet from your daily dose to see if it improves how you feel.

3) If you try both the above and don't get any benefit from either then it could be that the Tiromel is fake or it has been stored badly before you even received it. I doubt the Tiromel is fake - it costs very little in its country of manufacture (Turkey) and the effort and expense involved in making convincing looking fakes would mean there was little or no profit in it.

4) Thyroid hormones, along with many other medicines, have temperature requirements that mean they should be stored at a temperature no higher than 25 degrees C. The capital of Turkey is Ankara. The average daily maximum temperature in Ankara is 31 degrees C, but the record high is over 40 degrees C. The chance that your T3 has been exposed to excessive temperatures after manufacture and/or during sale or transport to you is probably quite high, although I should make it clear I'm only guessing.

Hi Humanbean

Thanks for your reply.

Tiromel Worked Well

Batch no. 23C722 exp. 08/2024

New Tiromel Not Good

Batch no. 24F32 exp. 10/2025

I don't feel either under or over medicated.

I've recently switched to T3 only and doing much, much better.

I would say they feel like a bad batch if that's possible.

I've used the same reliable source as always.

Worth contacting your source and requesting replacement with a different batch number, as HB says heat is also an issue
