If I was taking drops I'd make sure that I did it slowly and steadily to try and get the same size drop each time but I think you can ask the same question about how accurate is the dose in tablet form or capsule or softgel. There is no way anyone can say if the dose on the pack is the dose you receive.
The oil will help with absorption but try and hold them under your tongue for a minute or so for them to be absorbed sublingually.
"However, I do feel that you can get a more reliable dose with tablets, as its easy to cut them up?"
I get what you are saying there, but what I was trying to get across was how do we know any tablet/capsule/etc contains the full dose it says on the pack?
I remember when I saw a private practitioner and questioned one of the supplements she recommended, she said that many supplements don't actually contain what they say, be it more or less that the amount stated. I have no idea whether there is any truth in what she says.
Getting full Thyroid and vitamin testing 6-8 weeks after each dose increase in NDT strongly recommended
Bloods should be retested as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last (split) dose NDT 8-12 hours prior to blood test
Most people on NDT when adequately treated will have very low TSH, usually well under one. Most important results is FT3
I have read that Vitamin D needs Vitamin K2-MK7 to help the D route calcium from your diet to your bones and teeth. A small amount is needed if your Vit D dose is over 1,000. I take 90 mcg of Vit K. Also I was having some muscular problems and learned that magnesium is the friend of your muscles. I began taking magnesium along with my Vitamin D (also Selenium and Zinc) and my pains vanished. You can also take magnesium externally in the form of soaking in Epsom salts. In the US there is a spray called Theraworx Relief that you spray on and rub in.
I take magnesium glyconate, 500 mg. Many mag medications require taking 2 doses per day, but the brand I take contains the full 500 mg in one capsule. I take it along with my Vit D/Vit K tablet, selenium, and zinc after diner, which is my fattiest meal.
