I stumbled across this Web site when searching for answers about a new symptom - wheezing. Actually, I have had asthma for years, but had not needed to use my rescue inhaler for years. Over the past several months I have had to take my inhaler to my workout training sessions and use it at least once a week. Here is the info about the site: nahypothyroidism.org/about/

Thanks for sharing this article I’ve been in constant battles with my asthma nurse who keeps saying I need all these diff inhalers and I keep saying there not making any difference to my mild asthma but I’m on 175 levo so I’m guessing this is the reason for being so breathless all the time, back to the drs I think 🤔
Recently I have had wheezing while exercising, often enough that my personal trainer asked me to see my doctor about it. She has prescribed 5 days of steroids, plus a new medication that is supposed to relieve inflammation in the lungs.
Why it's used
Montelukast oral tablet is used to prevent and treat asthma. It’s also used to treat seasonal and year-round allergies.
Montelukast is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB). EIB occurs when the airways in the lungs narrow during or after exercise. This can cause shortness of breath, wheezing, or cough.
Brand name is Singulair in the U.S.
Just started. I'll try to remember to stop back and update how it is working for me.
